The Uttarakhand government started the Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana (Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana) on 1 July 2017 to fight and prevent the problem of child marriage in Uttarakhand. This government scheme will provide protection to girls in the state as well as encourage them to complete education.
The main objective of Gora Kanya Dhan Yojana is to make girls self-reliant in the state, eliminate female feticide and improve the sex ratio among girls and boys in the state. Under this scheme, only two girls of a BPL family will be given Rs 50,000 as FD. Which can be used at the time of their marriage after passing 12th standard.

- After this, a link to the Gauri Devi Kanya Dhan Scheme will appear in front of you as shown below.

- Fill all the details in the form correctly and fill all the information properly and click on the “Submit” button, after which your registration will be completed.

Applicants can fill the application of Gauradevi Kanyadhan Yojana and submit it to the concerned Block Development Office or Assistant Social Welfare Officer. The last date for submission of registration form is 30 September, which has been increased to 30 November this year.

Uttarakhand Gora Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana – Eligibility Criteria
Before registering for the scheme, all the applicants should check whether they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
- The girl should be a native of Uttarakhand.
- The name of the student should be in the BPL list.
- The student must have passed 12th class from Uttarakhand School Board.
- The annual income of the girl’s family should not exceed Rs 15,976 in rural areas and Rs 21,206 in urban areas.
- The student should be unmarried and should be below 25 years of age by July 01 of the year in which the application is being made.
- The student is studying in a school recognized by the Central or State Government.
