Gramin Ujala Yojana 2021

To reduce the expenditure on electricity bill, the National Rural Ujala Scheme has been launched so that people can save their money. Under this scheme, the government will distribute LED bulbs at a cost of 10rs to the rural people of India. With the help of this scheme people can save money on electricity bills, as these bulbs are very energy efficient. The use of these bulbs will save about 9324 crore units of electricity annually. While 7.65 million tonnes of carbon emissions will be reduced annually. The Government of India is planning to distribute about 60 million billion LED bulbs to 15 to 20 million beneficiaries in rural areas of the country.

प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण उजाला योजना के तहत, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में परिवारों को 10 रुपये में एलईडी बल्ब वितरित किए जाएंगे। इस योजना के तहत प्रत्येक परिवार को लगभग तीन से चार एलईडी बल्ब प्रदान किए जाएंगे। प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण विकास योजना 2021 को सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की ऊर्जा दक्षता सेवा लिमिटेड द्वारा अगले महीने वाराणसी सहित देश के पांच शहरों के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में लॉन्च किया जाएगा। इस योजना को अप्रैल तक पूरे भारत में लागू किया जाएगा।

Savings under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Ujala Yojana

PM Gramin Ujala Yojana 2021 will be implemented in a phased manner which includes Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Ara in Bihar, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Vadnagar in Gujarat and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Pradhanmantri Gramin Ujala Yojana will save about 9324 crore units of electricity annually from 2021. Whereas 765 million tonnes of carbon emissions will be reduced annually. 50000 crore rupees will be saved annually through this scheme. No subsidy will be taken from the Center or the state government for this scheme. Whatever expenditure will be incurred in the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Ujala Yojana will be spent by EESL. The cost of this scheme will be recovered through carbon trading.

The main objective of the rural Ujala scheme is to reach energy efficiency in rural areas. An LED of ₹ 10 will be provided through this scheme. Which will reduce power consumption and save money. Gramin Ujala Yojana will develop rural areas and improve their standard of living through 2021. Features of PM Gramin Ujala Yojana 2021

  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Ujala Yojana, LED bulbs will be provided to families in rural areas for ₹ 10.
  • Under this scheme, three to four LED bulbs will be provided to each family.

Previous launch of Ujala Scheme

NTPC, PFC, REC and Power Grid joint venture company distributed more than 36.50 crore LED bulbs at the rate of ₹ 70 per bulb under the UJALA program. Out of which only 20% bulbs have reached rural areas. Under the UJALA program, tubelights, energy efficiency fans, street lights, smart meters, electronic vehicles, EV charging, etc. are also included.
