The Government of Maharashtra has decided to launch a new scheme for the poor girls of the state named ‘Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojna’. This government scheme has been accepted by the state government after the revised policy. According to this scheme, families whose annual income is less than 7.5 lakh rupees can avail benefits under this scheme.
The main objective of this scheme is to improve the proportion of girls in the state, sex determination, prevent female feticide and support female education. Maharashtra government has also increased its coverage amount to give more boost to Majhi Kanya Yojana, earlier the annual income of families under the qualification of Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana was Rs 1 lakh but now it has been increased to Rs 7.5 lakh. Maharashtra Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme 2019-20
The Government of Maharashtra implemented this scheme on 1 April 2016. But now new improvements have been made in this scheme, now it is mandatory for the girl to be 18 years old, 10th pass and girl to be unmarried to take advantage of this scheme. It will be mandatory for the girls’ parents to get sterilization done within 1 year of the birth of a girl or within 6 months of the birth of another girl. After sterilization, the government will deposit Rs 50,000 in the name of one girl or Rs 25000-25000 in the name of both girls after the birth of another girl and after sterilization.
Essential Qualification for Maha Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana
- Must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
- The main benefit of this scheme will be given to only two girls from a family of the state.
- The annual income of the families should be less than 7.5 lakh rupees.
- People belonging to weaker section and BPL category can also avail this scheme.
- Till some time ago, only BPL eligible people could apply for this scheme, but now all those families whose annual income is Rs 7 lakh can apply for this scheme.
- The girl must be 18 years old or 10 years old to apply.
- Applicant must be unmarried.
- Parental sterilization will be required within 1 year of the birth of the first girl or within 6 months of the birth of the second girl.
- It is necessary to have a girl or mother’s bank account under the scheme.
- There should be an accident insurance of Rs 1 lakh with the account.
Implementation of Maharshtra Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana
- Under this scheme, parents will get the interest money when the girls turn 6 years old.
- The second time interest money will be received when the girls are 12 years old.
- Girls must be 18 years of age and have passed 10th standard and are single,
- The girl can then withdraw the entire amount of the plan from the bank simultaneously.
