The Karnataka government is going to launch a new Maralu Mithra app for booking sand and buying sand online. People will soon be able to buy sand using their smartphones just as people order groceries or apparels. All android mobile phone users will be able to download the Karnataka Maralu Mitra App from google play store.
Booking of the sand will be absolutely free and the purchased sand will be available well below the market price. Government of Karnataka as soon as the Maralu Mithra app is launched. Wants to supply sand at a maximum rate of Rs. 1,500 per ton. The current market rate is close to Rs. 3,250 to Rs. 3,500 per ton.
Karnataka Maralu Mitra Mobile App Download – Sand Booking & Buying
After the official launch of this new Maralu Mithra App, consumers will be able to book sand online and take it wherever they want. The customer has to provide the following details for booking sand and purchasing it through the app: –
- Name
- Email ID
- Postal Address
- Quantity of sand
- Sand quality ie coarse, medium and fine
- Select the type of sand (river / m-sand)
Accordingly, people can enter the following details in the Maralu Mithra App, find the nearest location where sand is available. The transportation cost will be decided online, depending on the distance from where the sand is booked.
Status of sand booking in Karnataka
After placing a sand booking order, people can track the delivery status of the sand until the shipment reaches it. Complete details of sand order placing, shipment, delivery are available on Maralu Mithra app. The model was successfully implemented in Udupi district in FY 2019 on a pilot basis and this model of booking and purchasing sand through the Maralu Mitra app is now being extended across the state.
