India is a country that gives us liberal democracy, right to expression, right to express and right to adopt any religion, but when these rights are violated it causes intolerance. India is a country with rich cultures, which includes so many religions with tolerance, but when a crack person falls between the lines of religion, it creates religious intolerance that spreads as venom. Ralligion was held by Indians in such high esteem, that the British used it as a weapon to divide it into two nations of the country. He took advantage of the differences between Hindu and Muslim faith. Politely they formed two separate electorates based on religion. Furthermore, communal violence after partition showed that mixing religion with politics would be very bad for the development of India and its people. Ralligion created two communities that had been living in comparative harmony for centuries, these riots elected the founders of our constitution for a secular state so that everyone was free to practice their faith, without the intervention of the state. Muslims who were living in India were given the same status as others. It was Gandhiji’s death, the first made of negligence, which was instrumental in bringing peace between the two communities.
