Thinking about the betterment of common citizens of the state, various welfare schemes have been set by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. - Main objective of the scheme – The main focus of the above scheme is to help individual driving cabs and autos. With the effective implementation of the scheme, four lakh persons will be helped in the state.
- Financial assistance to be provided by the State Government – Ten thousand rupees will be given on an annual basis to the beneficiaries selected under this scheme by the State Government. However, a total of Rs 400 crore has been allocated by the state government for this scheme.
- Planning Monitoring – The state government has entrusted the responsibility of transportation to the commissioners and district collectors for better plan monitoring. This involves checking the application process and completing it correctly. However, the authority will properly scrutinize the applications of the scheme.
- Condition of the plan – As per the rules of the scheme, the family of the driver will be considered as one unit. Even if two persons opted for plan benefits from the same family, both would be eligible to avail the scheme.
YSR Auto Taxi Vahana Mitra Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- Residential Eligibility – This scheme will be applicable only to the citizens of Andhra Pradesh. Citizens of other states are not eligible to be part of the above scheme.
- Commercial drivers – Only commercial drivers of taxis and autos are eligible to be part of the scheme. Other drivers of commercial vehicles may not get the benefit of the scheme.
- BPL Category – BPL candidates are also allowed to opt for the benefit of the scheme and hence, they have to register for the same. To get financial support through the government sponsored scheme, BPL candidates should provide appropriate evidence.
- Proper Registered Driver – For the benefit of the scheme, the driver should be a registered driver. Also, the driver must pass the driving test. Also, they should have a driving license. However, the registration letter should name the individual selection for the scheme benefits.

- Driving License – Drivers availing the scheme are required to provide driving license at the time of applying for the scheme. Higher officials will investigate this.
- Identity proof- According to the identity proof, the person has to provide Aadhaar card, or voter ID card to ensure that they belong to Andhra Pradesh. In addition, the candidate must produce the document in support of the claim that the vehicle belongs only to them. It will also be considered as suitable residential proof at the time of registration.
- BPL Card – In support of the claim of BPL candidates, they should produce their BPL card at the time of online registration under the above scheme. The BPL card will be checked by higher officials before the candidates are considered eligible for the scheme benefits.
- White Ration Card – If selected individually for the above scheme, it is important for them to produce the same at the time of online registration. This will be scrutinized by the higher authority concerned with the scheme before the candidate is considered eligible for the scheme.
- Car insurance – This is also important to consider and related insurance papers should be given by cab and taxi drivers. Correct insurance papers must be submitted at the time of registration for the scheme.

You can apply online to become a scheme beneficiary. The online application will start from 14 September to get the below online application form. The application process has just started and it has been said that part of it will be done through online mode while the other half will be done through offline mode.
- For registration, individuals have to login through the official portal of AP Auto Taxi Scheme related to the scheme by the state transport department.
- After this, applicants have to go through a few simple steps. While doing so, they have to link the registration number of taxi or auto to their Aadhaar card before applying for the scheme. It will be easy for them to take advantage of the scheme easily.
- After adding the numbers, applicants will have to produce the relevant documents described above for volunteers to help them complete the online registration process.
- Drivers have to complete the registration process within 15 days from the date of announcement of nomination under the scheme.
- Also, candidates must have an active bank account. This will be required to link the bank account as the beneficiary amount will be deposited directly into the linked bank account of the driver.
