Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the destitute, destitute cow dynasty participation scheme 2020 (UP Stray cattle scheme) in the cabinet meeting of Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday, August 6. In this government scheme launched by the state government, the farmers following the destitute, Uttar Pradesh Stray cattle scheme will be given Rs 30 per day per animal. In this way destitute, through the helpless cattle breeding scheme, farmers can reduce their financial constraints by rearing destitute animals as well as stray animals on the way will also get shelter.

According to the state census conducted by the state government in 2012, there are 205.66 lakh cows in UP, out of which around 12 lakh cows are destitute or Yogi Adityanath Stray cattle scheme. When the Yogi government came to Uttar Pradesh, they had also told that in the list of schemes of the Yogi government, the safety of bovine will also be given priority.

After the Yogi government approves the Chief Minister’s destitute, Stray cattle scheme in UP at the cabinet meeting, if the farmer supports 10 animals, then he can earn 300 rupees per day and 9 thousand rupees every month. The farmer will get additional income. This scheme of the Deputy Government will also help the Prime Minister’s dream of “doubling the income of farmers by 2023”.

Already 523 registered Goshalas are being provided by the state government for 365 days of the total protected cattle population for Rs 30 per bovine (Nirashrit / Besahara Govansh Sahbhagita scheme (stray cattle scheme) at permanent and temporary cow shelter sites. Due to the large number of destitute cow dynasty, there is inconvenience in their maintenance.

In the first phase, about one lakh animals will be transferred by the Yogi government, for which the state government will spend around Rs 109 crore 50 lakh. This scheme will increase social participation and reduce the number of destitute and destitute cows. This scheme will also make farmers and livestock farmers economically independent.

  •     Interested person should be a native of the respective development block and should be residing there.
  •     Interested farmers / herders / other persons should have experience of rearing and should have adequate space to keep animals.
  •     Only 4 cows will be given to willing farmers / livestock. If there is a calf with any cow, then both will be counted as bored.
  •     Applicant should have an account with any bank.
  •     Preference will be given to those who are connected with milk supply or committees.
  •     Preference will also be given to trained paravat or veterinarian.
  •     Interested person can apply for selection by filling the prescribed format (Aadhaar Card / Voter Card / Ration Card) and copy of Ban Passbook.
  •     The person can get the application of destitute, destitute bovine participation scheme from the Block Development Officer / Veterinary Officer of the block.

Yogi Stray Cattle Scheme – Implementation / Benefits

  • DM of the district will prepare a list of interested farmers and herders under Yogi Adityanath Stray cattle scheme so that Rs 30 per cow will be deposited in their bank account daily through DBT in their accounts.
  • Ear tagging of animals will also be done which will reduce the possibility of any kind of corruption.
  • Due to the help of stray animals by cattle ranchers, farmers, road accidents caused by destitute animals along the way will also be reduced.
  • Apart from this, the committee will also be formed at the tehsil, block and district level. The local committee will apprise the progress to BDO and SDM.
  • Due to the complete details in DM office, the farmer or herdler who has taken the destitute animal within the Yogi Stray Animal Plan 2020, will not be able to sell it to the cow. Those doing so will be prosecuted by the government.
