The Uttar Pradesh government is going to launch the One City One Card scheme in Lucknow (capital of UP). This UP One City One Smart Card scheme will enable people to buy water tax, electricity bill, parking fee, e-challan, metro fare and bus tickets. Under the Smart City Project, a single smart card will also include linking the smart card to the Lucknow Smart App. The move is going to increase cashless transactions which is a move for Digital India initiative.

The new One City One Smart Card scheme will promote cashless transactions and Digital India initiative. From 1 April 2020, any ration card holder can use the same ration card to avail subsidized food grains from anywhere in the country.

As soon as the new smart cards to be launched in Lucknow will be connected to the smart app, people can take advantage of the single window facility and a guide to parking in the city for troubleshooting all civic problems. Linking the card with the app will allow people to book parking slots in advance, besides taking advantage of other civic features to be linked with the app in future.
