The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is now accepting Baal Aadhaar Card as an online application form. People can now apply online for Baal Aadhar Card through Common Service Centers (CSCs) or Aadhar Seva Kendras. UIDAI will issue these blue colored child Aadhaar cards to children below 5 years of age. These cards can also be made for new born babies, which are valid for children up to the age of 5 years. Later, the blue Aadhaar card needs to be updated.

The concept of Bal Aadhaar Card is new and here we provide you the details of it. The Aadhaar card basically captures a person’s bio-metrics (fingerprints) and iris (retinal scans) to provide a 12-digit unique identification number. But fingerprints and iris of newborns or children under 5 years of age are not fully developed. Therefore, UIDAI has introduced this concept of providing child Aadhaar card to children.

The complete procedure to fill the online application form for Bal Aadhaar Card is given below: –

  • Open your browser like chrome and go to the official website uidai.gov.in
  • On the homepage, click on the “Get Aadhaar” link and in a new window, click on the “Book an appointment” link.
  • Direct link – https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/bookappointment.aspx
  • Here people can enter their city / place and book “UIDAI Run Limitless Service Center”. In addition, people can also make an appointment at the Registrar-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
  • Then click on the “Proceed to book Appointment” tab to open the child Aadhaar card online application form for booking appointment.
  • Here candidates can enter mobile number and verify OTP to open appointment booking page
  • Fill all the details to book an appointment for Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Then take your child to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in that particular time slot.

UIDAI has provided facility to book appointments at Aadhaar Seva Kendra for various Aadhaar services. These include the latest Aadhaar enrollment, name, address, mobile number, e-mail ID, date of birth, sex and biometric (photo + fingerprint + iris) updates.

People can get their new born children Aadhaar card made only with the help of discharge slip of hospitals. If a discharge slip is not present, apply for a child Aadhaar card through birth certificate in addition to the Aadhaar card of one of the parents. Apart from this, the child school identity card can also be used for the child Aadhaar card.
