1) Speech on Road Safety in English

Good Morning ladies and gentlemen!

First of all I would like to thank all the organizers and management team of this festival for their efforts as well as those who have gathered here with us today. Today this social festival has been organized because the number of road accidents is increasing day by day and people need to be aware of this public issue.

More than 1.2 million people have died due to road accidents and 20 to 500 million people suffer from serious injuries every year worldwide and hence it has become a serious issue nowadays. According to a report known as the “Global Status Report on Road Safety”, by 2030, road accidents will become the fifth leading cause of death. We should take the issue of road accident seriously because most of the deaths are due to negligence and hence it is becoming a big controversy.

There can be many reasons for road accidents. Negligence of driver or any other person is the main cause of road accident. People do not follow traffic directions and rules properly and hence result in serious injuries and deaths. We can usually see people who break traffic signals, drive drunk, do not wear seat belts. We all know what kind of rules and laws are in India. No rules are strictly followed on the roads. There are hardly any places in India where they are the cradle of rules. It is not only the duty of the government but the people should also have some respect for rules and law.

In many places in India, there is a shortage of emergency services to treat those injured in the accident. There are many other reasons for road accidents. Obtaining a driving license has also become quite easy these days and it is dangerous because people who do not know how to drive properly can harm other people using the same road. Heavy population growth, economic development, industrialization and motor driving are the roots of these accidents in the country. As the country moves towards modernization, the use of vehicles will increase. The problem of road safety for every person using the roads is related to that.

There is a need for strict rules and laws for safety on the roads. Everyone should follow instructions and rules while driving or using a vehicle. These days, bike craze among the youth is increasing, so they should follow the rules like wearing helmet and keep the speed limit. When using a car we should use seat belts and follow the speed limit. Drunk driving or fast driving is the main cause of accidents with cars.

Our life is in our hands and thus it is necessary to follow the rules and proper instructions while using the road. On this note, I want to thank all the people here for gathering here and making this social function a success.

Thank you

Speech on Road Safety – 2

Good morning friends!

Today I am standing here in front of you as your class teacher to give a speech on road safety. You are no longer a small child who does not know the safety rules while walking on the road. There is a very good saying, “Better be safe than sorry”. However we all forget this thing and sometimes become careless due to which we risk our lives.

Do we not hear the news of those who become victims of mutual encounters or road accidents on the road? Unfortunately some die on the spot and some suffer serious injuries, which they have to bear the burden of throughout their lives. Vehicle accidents have become a major reason behind the increase in mortality in our country and this is also happening when the government is implementing road safety measures.

Many of you may not know that Abu Dhabi is the place notorious for having the highest rate of road deaths in the world. On an average, there are 38 deaths due to fatal injuries caused by road traffic every month, mainly involving 0 to 14-year-old children.

This therefore attests to the fact that all people, especially pedestrians, should be vigilant and follow safety rules while walking on the road. It is the pedestrian who is primarily responsible for the road accident because it occurs when he or she does not ignore the traffic signal carelessly or carefully cross over the crosswalk, which increases the risk of injury. So I request all of you to be alert and in no hurry while walking on the road. In addition to this, many people usually interrupt the normal flow of traffic. Please note that this can prove to be very dangerous for one’s life, so it should be avoided. Always use the zebra crossing to walk on the road and open your eyes and ears to hear the sound coming from all around.

If you are going to travel via public transport and if it is a bus, then patiently wait for the bus to stop and then board it. Similarly, if you are getting out of the bus, wait for it to stop properly and make sure that no other vehicles obstruct your way. Try to keep something with you so that the other driver can see the presence from a distance. Never ignore safety signs because whenever people ignore safety signs, they have to suffer serious road accidents.

If you are cycling on the road then be more careful and make sure that your bicycle has a light device and its brakes are working in good condition. Second, avoid cycling on busy roads and try to use public transport.

While there is no guarantee that with these preventive measures we will be able to avoid fatal cases of road accidents but we can definitely avoid this danger by being vigilant on the road and following all safety regulations. Students, always remember that there is no reset button in life, so never be careless.

Hope you all remember my words and educate others about the importance of road safety rules.

Thanks!

Speech on Road Safety – 3

Respected Principal, respected teachers and my dear students! Good morning to all of you

Today this special gathering is organized to convey important things about the vehicles used by the students. As a teacher in this school I feel that it is my duty to discuss your safety especially if it is related to the students of our school.

Yesterday I saw a student who was speeding his bike on the road. The situation could have been dangerous for whoever was using that road. Careless driving is one of the main causes of road accidents. In many other cases, we have seen students who do not even have a driving license, yet they were driving wildly on the road. This is quite embarrassing for us because it is defiance of the rules of our country.

If we talk about road safety then this can only be possible when we follow the rules and laws of road safety. The rules for two wheelers and four wheelers differ. If you are on two wheelers it is important to wear a helmet and drive in a limited speed. If you are on four wheelers, it is important to wear a seat belt and of course it is also important to keep in mind the speed limit. Drinking is one of the main reasons for road accidents. The accidents that occur due to drinking and impaired driving are the drivers’ negligence and lack of promptness on the road.

According to the 2013 Global Status Report, more than two lakh people have died in road accidents in India every year. Due to the negligence of the drivers, around 100 people are killed and thousands are injured in road accidents every day. Road conditions can also be a cause of road accidents. There are many roads in India which are not in good condition and have become dangerous for driving. Especially in the rainy season, the condition of roads gets worse and cracks occur in it. Poor road condition is still a major tragedy of India.

The bad road causes a lot of problems while driving and sometimes the vehicle gets stuck on the road due to cracks and water. There are very few places in India where these problems do not occur or the roads are in good condition during the rainy season. The reason for this problem is the increasing corruption in India. Breaking of traffic rules and safety rules is common in India as penalties for breaking rules can be avoided by paying some money here. Sitting three people on a bike is forbidden for the purpose of security, but still we can see many people doing this because there is no fear in the mind of the people because they know that they just need to avoid punishment Need money

If we look at it, then this problem becomes even deeper, so there is a need for its solution. Contribution is needed not only of the government but also for its disposal. I hope that with each student from now on you will remember that safety is first. With that I would like to conclude my speech and give special thanks to our honorable principal for giving me this opportunity.

Thank you

Speech on Road Safety – 4

Dear Society Members – Good morning to all of you!

As the chairman of the organizing committee of our society, I have organized an event based on ‘Road Safety Week’ starting today in which I want to discuss some important road safety measures for the members of our society. As we all read in the newspapers about the increasing cases of road accidents of the younger generation today, I hope that through this, some awareness will certainly be awakened among the people and they will be more alert and careful while walking on the road. .

Please allow me to tell you about the reasons that cause road accidents. Most accidents on the road occur mainly when driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed limit. Some drivers or vehicle owners drive unnecessarily and without strictly following traffic rules. Apart from this, people who are professional drivers have to drive all day and sometimes vigilantly overnight, due to which they become unnoticed due to exhaustion and accidents on the road. However, now our government has implemented the road safety rules, and especially in cases of drinking and driving, there has been a significant decline in the incidents of conflicts on the road.

Talking about the youth, I have no apprehension in admitting that they drive very irresponsibly and consider the road as their racing track leading to fatal road accidents. It becomes the responsibility of the parents to keep an eye on them and make them realize the importance of safety rules. Sometimes the vehicle breaks down and does not drive for several months or its brakes or clutch do not work causing a road accident. In addition, road surfaces and pits contribute to poor road conditions and increase road accidents.

Recently, a person fell into the pothole on the road after leaving his child in the accident. There is no dearth of such incidents in our country and this is the right time that our government should take note of this negligence and take responsibility for the poor maintenance of public infrastructure. Apart from this, awareness campaigns should be conducted everywhere so that the citizens of our country are serious about adopting road safety measures. To be fair, I would like to advise the government that it would be right to suspend the license of the people involved in the cases of conflicts on the road. Criminals should be jailed and severe punishment should be imposed on them.

Not using seat belts and helmets also contributes to such cases. According to a recent report, it is only two-wheelers and trucks that cause about 40% of deaths in our country. India has three times more cases of road accidents than developed countries in the world. Therefore the only way to prevent mortality due to road accidents is to follow the rules of safety. Those who are driving should not exceed the speed limit of their vehicle so that the vehicle can be stopped in time or seen on the roadside if needed.

Thank you

Speech on Road Safety  – 5

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and my classmates, you are welcome to this special program today.

In view of the upcoming road safety week, this special event has been organized on this day. In this program, we have been told many things related to road safety. Along with this we were told the importance of Road Safety Week. I would like permission to say two words before you on this subject. As we all know, in today’s modern times the number of vehicles on the roads is increasing rapidly and due to many negligence of the people, ignorance of traffic rules and non-compliance, the number of accidents on the roads is increasing. Is also increasing rapidly.

According to the data, around 13 lakh people around the world die every year in road accidents. Out of which 1.5 lakh people die only in India, that is why this program of Road Safety Week is celebrated to create awareness among the people. If we take care of small things during a road trip, then many of these accidents can be avoided and it is the duty of every citizen of the country to keep full knowledge of traffic rules and follow them always.

Along with this, parents should take care that young children should not be allowed to drive motorcycles or cars. Four-wheelers and the occupants must use seat belts. Similarly, two-wheeler drivers and riders must use helmets. If we pay attention to these safety standards of road safety, then our chances of survival even after an accident increases by 80-85 percent.

Along with this, the government also needs to take tough steps on this subject, because at times, the regional transport offices are issued driving licenses without investigation. Which, along with being a criminal act, also creates a crisis on the life of people. This is because accidents are more likely to occur when a non-mature driver drives a vehicle.

The meaning of road safety is not limited only to drivers and riders, but pedestrians and cyclists should also follow the rules of road safety. Many times it is seen that pedestrians start crossing the road without looking right or left or try to cross the road by crossing the divider in the middle road. Such actions also act to increase road accidents. If we take care of these small things while traveling on the road, then many accidents can be avoided, which can save the lives of millions of people. Along with this, the government should also conduct awareness campaign to encourage people about traffic rules.

Now concluding this speech, I urge the other participants to come on stage and take this program forward. Thank you all for listening to my speech so carefully.
