The SERB Science and Technology Award for Research (SERB-STAR) is a prestigious award instituted by the SERB to recognize and reward the outstanding performance of Principal Investigators (PIs) of SERB projects. SERB has been supporting basic research in major areas of science and engineering through its various programs and schemes. The scope of SERB has increased over the years in the number of researchers and they contribute significantly to the progress of science and engineering in the country through their research efforts. SERB Science and Technology Award 2020-21

The higher authorities of the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India, have invited the SERB Science and Technology Award 2020-21 online application form for academic researchers between the ages of 40 and 50 years. As per the latest notification, the shortlisted candidates will get a fellowship of INR 15,000 per month. All interested and qualified candidates check the entire duration and status here, give instructions carefully and fill the online registration form before the last date through the link given below.

SERB Science and Technology Award 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should complete a personal-focused SERB project in the last 3 financial years with “excellent” grading
    Be the PI of such projects
  • Applicants should have a regular academic / research position in a recognized academic organization or national laboratories
    Age range of 40 to 50 years as on 31 December of the year in which the call is made.

  1. Project completion report (PCR).
  2. List of publications resulting from the completed project (if any).
  3. Reprints of publications (if applicable).
  4. Details of patents from the completed project (if any).
  5. Patent documents (if applicable).
  6. Documents related to technology transfer (if any).
  7. List of complete publications, patents and any other significant contribution.
  8. Certificate from PI Download Template
  9. Endorsement certificate Download Template
  10. Technical Document Download Template

Benifits

  •     Nomination will be done by the head of the institution.
  •     On Stage 1 – Initial investigation, verification of eligibility criteria including “Excellent” grading will be done by SERB. Only those nominations found eligible will be considered for Stage 2 – Award Selection Process.
  •     Selection by a competent committee will be based on the performance of completed projects and other research work will rise to the top.
  •     15,000 / – per month fellowship, Rs. Research grant of. 10 lakhs per annum as overhead charges and Rs. 1 lakhs annually for a period of three years.
  •     More than 30 awards per year and no more than 90 at any time.

Apply online for Science and Technology Award 2020

  • First of all, register on the department’s official website SERB online portal.
  • Then log in and fill all the required details correctly
  • Under ‘Form Submission’, select Scheme: and STAR ‘and fill the nomination form correctly.
  • After filling in the complete information, send the STAR Enrollment Form to the Nominator.
  • The Nominator will accept the information via email, with a link to the SERB online web, to view the filled star nomination form.
  • After submission, the PI and Nominator will take a print out of the successful submission.
