Search and Engineering Research Board (SERB) has launched the Accelerate Vigyan (AV) Scheme 2020 portal on accelervigyan.gov.in. The AV plan will provide a major push to high-end scientific research and create scientific manpower. Now people can apply online for the ABHYAAS program of AV Scheme by filling the Karyashala / Vritika online application form. SERB Accelerate Vigyan Yojana by the Central Government aims to enable people to venture into research careers and knowledge-based economy.

The acceleration science scheme aims to expand the research base in the country. It has 3 broad goals, consolidation / aggregation of all scientific training programs, starting high-end orientation workshops and creating research internship opportunities. ABHYAAS is a program of AV scheme which is an effort to promote research and development (R&D) in the country.

Period for Karyashala / Vritika Program

1. Karyashala – At least 1 week but not more than 2 weeks per workshop.
2. Vritika – at least 4 weeks but not more than 2 months per month.

It is important to note that 1 July 2020 also marks the launch of another new component SAYONJIKA under the AV scheme. It is an open-ended program to list capacity building activities in S&T supported by all government funding agencies in the country.
