Rs. 7000 / Acre Incentive to Farmers to Switch from Paddy – Haryana Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme

The Haryana Government has launched the Mera Pani Meri Virasat scheme for farmers on 6 May 2020. It is a crop diversification initiative before the paddy planting season which starts from 15 June 2020. Now the state government will provide Rs. 7000 incentives per acre to farmers for switching from paddy. This water conservation initiative will also save from the depletion of natural resources like water and soil.

The state is currently producing about 68 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy and 25 LMT of basmati. So first to push firm diversification, the state government. Has decided to purchase maize and pulses at minimum support price (MSP).

Haryana Mera Pani Meri Veerat Yojana

CM Manohar Lal Khattar during his address on Haryana Raj program launched the ambitious Meri Paan Meri Veersat Scheme. The land under paddy transplanting is about 32 lakh acres in the state of Haryana. About 30 quintals of paddy (permaal) are produced in an acre and a farmer is about Rs. 30,000 per acre. This earning is excluding input cost which is Rs. More than. 20,000 per acre.

The agricultural production programs of the Haryana Government are determined by the need for national food security. Central Government. Gives fixed price for marketing of paddy to farmers. Protect from removal of ground water level in the dark zone

According to the report, there are 36 blocks in the Dark Zone, as the ground water level has decreased in the last 12 years. This means that the ground water level was earlier 20 meters, which has now come down to 40 meters. In 19 blocks, the water depth has exceeded 40 meters and out of these 11 blocks are those in which paddy is not sown.

The remaining 8 paddy rich blocks include Ratia, Siwan, Guhla, Pipli, Shahabad, Babain, Ismailabad and Sirsa. Here the depth of ground water level is more than 40 meters which will be included in Meera Pani Meri Veerta Yojana. From now on, land under the panchayat, whose groundwater depth is more than 35 meters, will not be allowed to sow paddy. However, the incentive amount will be provided to the Panchayat concerned.

Apart from these blocks, if the farmers of the remaining blocks also want to stop sowing of paddy, they can apply for the incentive amount by giving advance notice. All such farmers who stop the cultivation of paddy will get Rs. Will be encouraged. 7,000 per acre.

80% subsidy for micro irrigation in Haryana

CM Manohar Lal Khattar has urged farmers to sow crops requiring less water than paddy. Farmers can now grow crops such as maize, arhar, urad, guar, cotton, millet, sesame and gisham moong (Baisakhi moong). These crops will save water and ensure water availability for generations to come.

Government of Haryana Already 80% grant is being given to farmers adopting micro irrigation and drip irrigation system along with growing alternative crops in place of paddy. Farmers of the state should promote water conservation and save water for future generations, in the same way that they leave their land as a legacy for their future generations.
