Central Government. A new SAIL Seva Yojana Portal has been launched to promote voluntary philanthropic activities (VPA). The name of the scheme is SAIL Employee Rendering Voluntarism and Initiatives for Community Engagement (Service). This SAIL service scheme will facilitate philanthropic activities by employees of the 2020 Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in a philanthropic manner.
The new cell service scheme will be operational from 24 January which is the foundation day of PSUs.

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan launched a voluntary service scheme of SAIL on 22 January 2020. The employees of PSU will contribute in the areas of education, health, women empowerment, nutrition, permanent income generation, assistance to the disabled, sanitation, environmental sustainability, etc. in the Cell Service Scheme 2020. SAIL employees volunteer for this scheme and take initiative for the initiative. Community engagement (Seva) will be operational from January 24, which is the foundation day of PSU.
SAK President AK Chaudhary said that the scheme aims to “bring back its employees to the society and work for the community”. Volunteers can register on the portal of the Cell Service Scheme, where they can refer to the areas in which these employees are ready to do their work. The service is an employer-supported volunteer scheme that champions employees through their VPAs developing peripheral sector.
The main objective of the Cell Service Scheme 2020 is to encourage employees or groups taking VPAs and contribute to social well-being. FY 2020 is marking the completion of 70 years of our Constitution. President of India Ramnath Kovind has said that while being conscious of their rights, citizens should also be conscious of their duties. Through the service, employees of SAIL will come forward to fulfill their social duties voluntarily and contribute to social welfare and nation building.
He also inspired other public undertakings to encourage their employees to do voluntary work for the society based on their areas of interest. Chaudhary said the PSU expects about 70,000 of its employees and 60,000 contract workers to register for the initiative.
