Palanhar Scheme 2019
The Palanhar scheme was launched on 8 February 2005 for orphans. Palanhar Yojana is a scheme that has been implemented in different districts of Rajasthan. Under the Palanhar scheme, attention is paid to the children whose parents have died or who are orphans or children who have been imprisoned or the children of a single widow, a fixed pension of Rs. 500 every month or school. 675 per month is provided after admission.
During this scheme, 2 thousand rupees are provided to those children for shoes, clothes, etc. The annual income of Palanhar families under the Palanhar scheme should not exceed 1 lakh 20 thousand. Under this scheme, it is necessary to send orphaned children to the Anganwadi center at the age of 2 and to school at the age of 6 years.
Eligibility Criteria for Palanhar Scheme: –
- Under the Palanhar scheme, grants are made available to Palanhar for the upbringing of children, education etc.
- The annual income of the Palanhar family should not exceed Rs 1.20 lakh.
- It is mandatory to send such orphans to the Anganwadi center at the age of 2 and to the school at the age of 6.
This scheme (Palanhar Yojana 2019) implemented from 8 February 2005 was initially operated for orphan children of Scheduled Castes, in which the following categories have been added from time to time by amending: –
- Orphaned children
- Children of parents with death penalty / life imprisonment by judicial process
- Maximum of three children of widowed mothers eligible for destitute pension
- Maximum of three children of mother-to-be
- Reunited widowed mother’s child
- Children of AIDS afflicted parents
- Children of leprosy parents
- Children of disabled parents
- Divorced / abandoned woman’s child.
Amount to be provided under the Palanhar Scheme 2019: –
- For every orphaned child, the child rearing family will be provided at the rate of Rs. 500 per month for children up to the age of 5 years.
- After entering the school, after the age of 18 years, grant is provided at the rate of Rs. 1000 per month.
- In addition, an annual grant of Rs. 2000 per year (excluding widow and maternity category) is also provided for clothes, footwear, sweaters and other essential work.
