The Chief Minister Cancer Relief Fund Scheme has been launched by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab to provide financial assistance to cancer patients especially for the financially weak patients. Patients have to fill the application form and submit the necessary documents to register themselves and avail the scheme.
The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab has taken the initiative to provide financial assistance to cancer patients of Punjab by launching the Mukhyamantri Cancer Relief Fund Scheme. Under this scheme, cancer patients (excluding government employees, ESI employees and their dependents) will get up to Rs 50 lakh for treatment. Patients who have medical reimbursement or any other person who has opted for health insurance by insurance companies. - Positron emission tomography (PET) scan which detects cancer and costs around Rs 14,000, till now patients had to pay fees directly in hospitals.
- Now, if registered under the Chief Minister’s Cancer Relief Fund Scheme, the government will make this payment directly to the hospitals.
- Patients do not have to wait long to receive payment from the government.
- Under the scheme, the administration of Rajindara Hospital has written to the government hospital not to take payment from the patients and sent the bill directly to the hospital.
- Payment will be made directly to hospitals by the state government.

- Fill the application form with the details of the patient and paste your recent picture in the form
- Estimate perma is to be filled in the concerned hospital, where the patient is undergoing treatment.
- The hospital has to examine the patient’s estimate and photograph.
- Attach other necessary documents with the application form and send it to the District Civil Surgeon Officer.
