The Prime Minister’s Security Campaign was launched on 31 July 2016 by the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The objective of launching PMSMA scheme is to provide free health check up to pregnant women of the country. As part of the Prime Minister’s Safety Campaign to provide incentive cars to pregnant women in rural and urban areas, the government provides health check-up till the delivery of the child on the 9th of every month.
About Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA)
PMSMA is an incentive care facility for maternity women of the country. To implement this, the Central Government, under the Prime Minister’s Security Campaign, wants to increase the healthy and safe delivery of the child. This PMSMA will definitely increase the proportion of health births in the country. Because the people of rural and areas in our country are not much aware about the safety of mother and child, because other countries are aware, the government wants to make people aware of it.

PMSMA free inquiry scheme
A PMSMA was launched by the Government of India to provide free screening and protection to maternity of the country. Women registered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Maternity Campaign will get free, comprehensive and quality prenatal care, free of cost, to all pregnant women on 9th of every month. The scheme has been started under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. These PMSMA free check ups will be provided to the beneficiary women in PHCs / CHCs, public health hospitals in DHs. The scheme is applicable to women from both urban and rural areas.
