The central government has decided to continue the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) from FY 2019-2020. The meeting was chaired by the Honorable PM Narendra Modi. Accordingly, the scheme will create employment opportunities for 15 lakh people with a total outlay of Rs. 5,500 crores Rs. Interested personal / non-individual applicants can apply online through PMEGP e-portal kviconline.gov.in
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the continuation of the PMEGP scheme for the plan beyond 12 years (from 2017-18 to 2019-20). The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is chosen for its implementation at the national level. Also at the state / district level, KVIC, Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) and District Industries Center (DIC) are the state office implementing agencies.
About PMEGP 2020
Since 2008-09, PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy program run by the Ministry of Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME). Subsequently, the pmegp scheme will create self-employment opportunities through the establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-agricultural sector.

Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) Online Application Form 2020
Interested and eligible candidates can fill the PMEGP application form 2020 through the PMEGP official website before the closing date.
- Go to the official website my.msme.gov.in or kviconline.gov.in
- Then on the homepage, click on the link “Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP)” or “PMEGP ePPal”
- Direct link – To fill PMEGP application form, candidates can directly click on the link of pmegp homepage – https://www.kviconline.gov.in/pmegpeportal/pmegphome/index.jsp
- Later, click on the “In-person online application form” link to fill the application form for personal.
- Then the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) application form will appear on your screen.
- Now here the candidates have to fill all the details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the pmegp registration process.
- Finally, registered candidates can create “PMEGP Login (Applicant)and fill the remaining application form to complete the application process.
All applications of individuals received on PMEGP e-portal will be processed online. Candidates should read the pmegp guidelines to fill the online application form. Apart from this, non-individuals / groups can also fill the application form through the link – PMEGP application form (non-individual)
PMEGP 2020 subsidy
After the maximum limit of cost of projects under PMEGP which was Rs. 25 crores for manufacturing sector and Rs. 10 Lakhs for Business / Services Sector, Central Govt. Provides subsidies. The distribution of margin subsidy is as follows: –

PMEGP Parameters
Central govt. will fix the targets taking into account the following parameters:-
- Extent of Backwardness of the State.
- Extent of Unemployment and fulfillment of previous year targets.
- Population of State / Union Territory.
- Availability of Traditional Skills and Raw Material.
Central Government. A minimum target of 75 projects / district is provided to all districts based on the pmegp application project report to achieve inclusive growth. Subsequently, a higher rate of subsidy (25% to 35%) will be applicable for women, SC / ST, OBC, physically disabled, NER applicants in rural areas.
The entire process of application flow and fund flow has been made online. This includes receiving applications, processing, approval by banks, transfer of margin money subsidy on pmegp loan and creation of term deposit receipt (TDR) in the name of the applicant.
PM Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) Eligibility Critaria
- Individuals above 18 years of age can apply for PMEGP scheme.
- For projects above Rs, the applicant is required to have a minimum of 8th grade pass. 10 lakh in manufacturing sector and above Rs. 5 lakhs in the trade and services sector.
- PMEGP approves new projects only and the scheme is not applicable for existing ongoing projects.
- All self-help groups including BPL (BPL) SHGs are eligible with a pre-condition that these SHGs have not availed other schemes.
- Institutions, production cooperative societies and charitable trusts registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 are also eligible.
- Non-Qualified – All existing units under PMRY, REGP and any other central government. / State government. The plans are not eligible. Even any entity that has taken over the government. Subsidy under any government. Plans are not eligible.
PMEGP Scheme 2020 – Revision / Correction
- The second loan amount is Rs. To upgrade itself for existing and better performing PMEGP units with a subsidy of 10 million 15%.
- Provision of merging coir rise scheme (CUY) in PMEGP.
- Introducing concurrent monitoring and evaluation.
- Mandatory Aadhaar and PAN card.
- Geo-tagging of PMEGP units.
- PMEGP Amendment – serving / selling non-vegetarian food in hotels / dhabas and off farm / farm linked activities.
- KVIC: KVIB: distribution ratio of 30:30:40 for DIC.
- The working capital component for manufacturing units is fixed at 40% of the total project cost. Also for the service / business sector, the capital component is fixed at 60% of the project cost.
