The Power Corporation Department of Uttar Pradesh has decided to introduce the Easy Installment Scheme 2019 for the citizens of the state. Under this government scheme, all the consumers, who were unable to pay electricity bills due to low income, can now pay the bills in easy installments. Uttar Pradesh Easy Installment Scheme has been implemented in every district of the state from Monday, November 11, 2019 and will continue till December 31 of this year. The Yogi government had been considering a scheme for a long time to settle the outstanding bills of the people and also reduced the deficit of the electricity department.

Managing Director of Power Corporation M Devaraj has instructed the Managing Directors of Madhyanchal, Purvanchal, Paschimanchal and Dakshinchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam to implement the UP Easy Installment Scheme effectively. This scheme will be applicable to both urban and rural areas because according to government data, there are many consumers in urban areas who have not paid their electricity bills for a long time.

According to the UP government, this will not only reduce the financial losses of the power department and also there will be no emphasis on the UP Easy Installment Scheme. Apart from this, people who do not have electricity meters in their homes can apply online for instant electricity connection scheme.

Important Dates Under The Scheme

The concerned authority has finalized the following dates to carry on the easy instalment scheme for the UP Electricity Board:-

  • Registration Starting – 11th November 2019
  • Registration Ending – 31st December 2019

Eligibility For The Applicants

The following applicants will only be eligible for the easy instalments scheme for the UP Electricity Board:-

  • The scheme will only be available for the LMV-1
  • Also, only domestic consumers of urban areas up to 4 KW load are applicable for the scheme.
  • All the rural areas residents will be applicable for the scheme.
  • Only regular electricity bill payers will be eligible for the easy instalments.

Uttar Pradesh Easy Installment Scheme Online Application

To avail the easy installment scheme 2019, applicants have to register online as they will be able to choose the payment and modification option only after filling the online form. The online application facility will be available at all the block / subdivision offices as well as the Common Service Center – CSC’s. Where all he has to do is tell his electricity meter number. After which all information such as bill money, surcharge, payment status etc. will come on the screen.

Under the scheme, low income consumers residing in urban areas can pay the outstanding bills in 12 installments and rural consumers in 24 installments, but the minimum installment amount should not be less than Rs 1500 or less in the easy installment scheme. The benefit of the scheme will be available only to consumers who have taken up to 4 kW domestic connections.

To take advantage of the scheme, the registration of consumers will be between November 11 to December 31, at the time of registration, consumers will have to deposit five percent of the amount of the original electricity bill (without surcharge) till October 31 or a minimum of Rs 1500. The surcharge on the outstanding bill will be abolished on payment of all the installments fixed after registration and all bills issued after 31 October.

UP Easy Installment Terms Condition

There are also some conditions in the Yogi government’s electricity bill monthly installment plan that the consumer should read:

  • If for any reason a consumer is unable to deposit the monthly installment of one month and the bill for the current month, then he will have to submit two months installment and monthly bill next month.
  • In case of non-deposit of two consecutive monthly installments and two months regular bill, the registration of the consumer will be canceled and in case of default in payment, the remaining amount will be charged proportionate LPSC. Canceled registration will not be considered.
  • The consumer will get the benefit of exemption from the right even after paying the dues bill in a lump sum.
