In order to entice customers to pay the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Finance Ministry plans to introduce an online lottery scheme (daily / monthly). As per the latest news, it is important to know that the central government will soon launch this online lottery scheme for GST paying customers. The plan will be a step to improve compliance and check on tax leaks.
The plan of lottery scheme for GST payment is to organize daily and monthly lotteries for customers who collect a copy of the bill after paying GST for business for consumer transactions. Various prizes are to be given to either people in cash or incentives (to be decided).
All those people who pay GST on time on daily / monthly basis will be able to apply online for lottery scheme for GST payment. The scheme will encourage people to pay their tax on time and to get a proper bill after paying.
GST Customer Online Lottery Scheme (Daily / Monthly) Portal
GST paying customer online lottery scheme portal will be launched by the Government of India. All bills have to be uploaded to that dedicated portal or app which will be created later. The online GST lottery portal or app will auto-capture merchants’ phone numbers, bill numbers and GST numbers. These details will be helpful in selecting the names of the winners of the online lottery scheme for GST paying customers. After reaching a consensus at the level of officials, an online GST lottery scheme will be prepared before the GST Council at the meeting.
The monthly prize for GST lottery will attract customers to pay GST and this will also increase GST collection. Central Government. GST will fix the minimum limit for bills to participate in the online lottery scheme. However, water and electricity bills will not be considered valid for participation in the scheme.

The award of online lottery scheme for GST paying customers will come from the Consumer Welfare Fund. This new scheme for taxpayers will follow the same lines of the Delhi government scheme to reward customers for paying value-added tax (VAT).

As per that scheme by the Delhi Government, the customer was eligible for an award of Rs, up to a maximum limit of 5 times the taxable value. The scheme is on similar lines with the one introduced by Delhi government to reward customers for paying Value Added Tax, the ministry official said.
Delhi Government had introduced ”Bill Banao, Inaam Pao” scheme in 2015 during the VAT regime.
