The spread of agriculture in our country is already high. Every government that comes to the country prepares a plan for agriculture every year. The plans made are aimed at improving the level of agriculture. Today, we have brought information about such a scheme “Traditional Agricultural Development Scheme” in our article. “Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana” has been launched by the Central Government to promote organic farming. The scheme has been operationalized in the year 2015. The objective of introducing the scheme is to develop a model of organic agriculture by combining traditional knowledge and modern technology. Under PKVY Yojna, financial assistance will be provided by the government to farmers for organic farming. Financial grant will be provided to farmers on the basis of collective approach and PGS certification system. Through the Participant Guarantee System (PGS), the crops will be tested organic. Farmers will have to form a group of 20 to 50 farmer members on 500 to 1000 hectares of land to get financial support for organic farming. Organic farming will be encouraged by the government under the PKVY scheme. The intention of this scheme will be to maintain the health of the farmers and the quality of the land. Under the traditional agricultural development scheme, the government will train and support the farmers by promoting organic farming. Features of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana
- Those farmers of our country under PKVY Yojana will be motivated to do more organic farming.
- Under this scheme, more than 50 farmers will form a cluster with 50 acres of land for doing organic farming and similarly 10,000 groups will be formed under organic farming during 3 years covering an area of 5.0 lakh acres.
- There will be no expenditure on the farmers for spending on certification under the PKVY scheme.
- Every farmer will be provided Rs. 20,000 per acre for seed, harvesting of crops and transporting produce to market in 3 years.
- Traditional resources will be used under this scheme and along with this, organic farming will be promoted and organic products will be linked to the market.
- This will increase domestic production and certification of organic produce by connecting farmers.
Main Objective of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana
- Organic agriculture has to be promoted, so that the health of the farmers can be protected from the diseases caused by chemical food, pesticides. With this, the fertile power of soil can be saved from destruction.
- Farmers have to be made aware of farming based on agricultural model prepared by mixing traditional and scientific method. So that farmers can succeed in increasing their income by producing more crops at lower agricultural cost.

- A dedicated organic farming portal for organic farming is designed for the knowledge platform as well as the marketing platform.
- The portal provides details of farmers involved in organic farming, input suppliers, certification agencies (PGS), and marketing agencies, from production to marketing.
- Farmers can benefit through PKVY / PGS group capacity building, technical know-how, communication with marketing channels / other groups and direct marketing of their produce to potential producers and consumers.
