Satyabhama (Science and Technology Scheme for India in Mining Advancement) online registration on portal.mines.gov.in. / Non-government. Organization Apply Online

The Central Government has launched the Satyabhama portal on 15 June 2020 at research.mines.gov.in. The Satyabhama Portal is a part of the Science and Technology Program Scheme of the Ministry of Mines. Satyabhama refers to the Science and Technology Plan for India and India in Mining Advancement. The portal has been designed, developed and implemented by the National Informatics Center (NIC), Mines Informatics Division. People can now register and login on the official Satyabhama website.

In the Satyabhama portal, people can check the guidelines for the support of mining research and the implementation of the information and education and communication component of the S&T scheme. Central Government. Provides funds to recognized educational institutions, universities, national institutes and R&D institutions along with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.

Thrust Areas to Supporting Research in Mining

The broad thrust areas to support research in mining are given below: –

  1. Potential / exploration for strategic, rare and rare earth minerals.
  2. Development of new technology for mineral exploration and mining on land and deep sea to explore and exploit new mineral resources.
  3. Research in mining methods. This includes rock mechanics, mine designing, mining equipment, energy conservation, environmental protection and mine safety.
  4. Efficiency will be improved by process, operation, recovery of products and reduction in specification and consumption criteria.
  5. Research in metallurgy and mineral beneficiation techniques for using lower grade and finer ores.
  6. Evacuation of value-added products from mine wastes, plant tailings, etc.
  7. Development of new alloys and metal related products, etc.
  8. Development of low capital and energy saving processing systems.
  9. Production of high purity materials.
  10. Cooperative research between organizations related to the mineral sector.

Science and Technology Plan for India and India in Mining Advancement

Unlike the current system where physical proposals are submitted by scientists / researchers, the SATYABHAMA portal allows project proposals to be submitted online. In addition, there is an online mechanism for monitoring projects and the use of funds / grants. Researchers can also submit progress reports in electronic format and final technical reports of projects in the portal. A user manual is also available on the portal where the step-wise procedures for submission of project proposals are outlined. The portal is integrated with DARPAN portal, an NGO of NITI Aayog.

Central Government. Funds to educational institutions, universities, national institutes and R&D institutions to implement research and development projects under the Science and Technology Program Scheme of the Ministry of Mines. This is done to promote research in the applied geology, mineral exploration, mining and allied sectors of the country’s mineral resources, mineral processing, optimum utilization and conservation. The portal will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of science and technology planning for India and India in mining advancement.
