The Central Government has launched The Urban Learning Internship Program (TULIP) for students on 4 June 2020. In this tulip scheme, Govt. The Smart City will provide internship opportunities to thousands of new graduates and engineers from across the county under the projects. All interested candidates can apply by sending the AICTE Tulip Internship 2020 online application form to the internship.

Under the TULIP Internship Program, students will get to work for 100 smart cities under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MoHUA). According to the Tulip portal, there are a total of 295,200 internships under 23,970 companies. The main objective is to complete 1 crore internships by the financial year 2025 and prevent the risk of unemployment in the country.
Eligibility Criteria for Student Training under AICTE Tulip Internship 2020
All applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria for student training under AICTE Tulip Internship 2020: –
- The AICTE TULIP internship is open to Indian nationals only.
- No more than 18 months must elapse from the date of declaration of final year results from the date on which the internship is sought.
- Students have B.Tech, B. Planning, B. Must have Arc, BA, BSc, BCom, LLB degree, can register for internship as per their interest.

Full details of AICTE TULIP Internship 2020
TULIP interns will receive a large number of investments in areas such as urban planning, urban design, various branches of engineering, information and technology, mobility, finance, social sector issues and environmental issues. The AICTE TULIP Internship 2020 will provide students with insights into policymaking and implementation and interact with city officials / civil society members. Students will be oriented to best practices, knowledge sharing and on-the-ground project implementation. The interns will lead with a rich experience in urban governance that will help them in their future endeavors.
Training benefits
AICTE training to students will provide short-term exposure to new graduates to enhance their professional development. This is done through experiential learning with ULBs and smart cities. Accordingly, fresh energy and ideas will be designed to solve challenges critical to ULBs and smart cities efforts.
Duration and duration of engagement
The duration of AICTE TULIP internship will be a minimum of 8 weeks to 1 year.
Stipend and other allowances
The amount of stipend / subsistence allowance / expenditure will be payable at the discretion of ULB / Smart City. Furthermore, ULBs or Smart Cities will have no responsibility to provide any employment.
Logistics
Interns will bring with them laptop / mobile internet connectivity / other devices etc. as required. Interns will usually arrange their own boarding / lodging / transportation to and from their place of internship. However, ULB / Smart City can reimburse transportation / travel expenses incurred by interns during any assignment. ULB / Smart City can in any way support interns with the necessary resources to complete the work as per their discretion.
Certificate of internship
A digitally signed and shareable certificate will be issued by MoHUA, the state government, AICTE and ULB / Smart City regarding the successful completion of the internship.
