One Nation One Ration Card Scheme will digitalize all ration card holder data online and enable them to get all the food items at a discounted rate from any place of the country. In a recent meeting with Food Secretaries, FCI, Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) and State Warehousing Corporations (SWC), the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan decided to implement One Nation One Ration. is. Now the central government is going to start the scheme from June 2020.
The latest update (14 May 2020) will introduce the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme to ensure national portability of rations for the benefit of migrant workers, Central Government. From August 2020, 67 crore migrant workers in 23 states will benefit from the scheme, which is about 83% of the total PDS beneficiaries. The coverage of 100% beneficiaries under the 1 Nation 1 Ration Card Scheme will be achieved by 31 March 2020.

About One Nation One Ration Card
Through this program, the central government is going to digitally provide the data of all the ration card holders of the state, under which a citizen residing in any part of the country with the help of their ration card, shops of any other state’s public distribution system Will be able to get food ration at concessional rates. Till now the beneficiary can get food items only from the ration card distributor for the region for which the ration card is made, but now after successful implementation of One Nation One Ration Card program, that beneficiary gets ration of his right from any part of the country Will be eligible to do
Eligible beneficiaries will be able to avail their eligible food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) from any fair price shop in the country using ration cards.
“To achieve the objective of national portability, it is necessary that the ration cards issued by various states and union territories conform to a standard format. The official said that a standard format for ration card has been prepared keeping in mind the format used by various states and after consultation with other stakeholders.
Whenever states decide to issue new ration cards, state governments are advised to use this new format.
In more detail, the official said that the standardized ration card includes the minimum details of the ration card holder and states can add more details as per their requirement.
States have also been assigned a 10-digit standard ration card number, with the first two digits being the state code and the next two digits being the ration card number.

Apply One Nation One Ration Card online format
To achieve the objective of national portability, it is necessary that the ration cards issued by various states and union territories conform to a standard format. Whenever the states decide to issue new ration cards under the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme, the state governments are advised to use this new format. Important features of applying One Nation One Ration Card online format are as follows: –
- This new format will include the required minimum details of the ration card holder and states can add more details as per their requirement.
- For national portability, state governments have been asked to issue ration cards in a bi-lingual format. Apart from any other language (either Hindi or English) local language may be used.
- The One Nation One Ration Card applicable online form will include the standard 10 digit ration card number. Of these, the first 2 digits will correspond to the state code, while the next 2 digits will be the ration card number.
- Apart from these 4 digits, a set of one and 2 digits will be added to the ration card along with the ration card number to create a unique member ID for each member of the household.

Giving more information about One Nation One Ration Card, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that the scheme is already running in 10 states in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Tripura. And within the coming 1 year, the rest of the other states will also be linked to it, for this, the central government will send the beneficiary data to all the states by June 30, 2020. Implementation of One Nation One Ration Card
The Central Government has already written to all state governments to speed up the implementation of the One Nation One Ration Card system. This system will ensure that no person is deprived of getting subsidized food grains under the food security scheme. The One Nation Ration Card policy will also remove fake ration cards. All states and union territories will link the data of all beneficiaries to their Aadhaar cards and then digitalize all ration cards under the Unified Management (IMDS) public distribution system.
How to apply for One Nation One Ration Card?
No ration card holder is required to fill any unlimited or offline application form under One Nation One Ration Card program. All the state and central governments themselves will be verifying the ration cards of the beneficiaries with the Aadhaar card over the phone. REPAT will make the data available under the Integrated Management Public Distinction System and will entitle all eligible citizens to get their share ration from any part of the state and the country.
