Types of Ration Cards –

- BPL Ration Card (Below Poverty Line) – BPL means people coming below the poverty line. This is such a community of society, which is extremely poor, whose annual income is 12 thousand or less. The government gives them 25 to 35 kg of grain free.
- APL Ration Card (Above Poverty Line) – The government gives APL card to the communities that come above the poverty line. Their annual income is more than the BPL ones. The government gives 15 kg of food grains to these people. Can not apply for BPL ration card falling in APL category.
- Antyodaya Ration Card (AAY) – Very poor people fall in this category. Those who are unable to feed themselves. Such people give food grains up to 35 kg as subsidy.
