Eligibility To Get Registered Under NRC
- People whose names appear in the 1951 NRC list
- People whose names appear in any voter list as of 24 March 1971
- Descendants of any of these people are mentioned.
- People from other regions on or after January 1, 1966, but before March 25, 1971, and registered themselves with the Foreigners Registration Regional Officer (FRRO) and were declared Indian citizens by foreign tribunals
- D’voters may apply to include their name in the updated NRC. However, their names will be included only when the appropriate foreign tribunal declares them non-foreign.
- Persons mentioned in the list of documents acceptable for citizenship, who can provide any of the documents issued by midnight of 24 March 1971.
