The Government of Madhya Pradesh has now included Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib in its ambitious MP Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana 2019 in Pakistan. Under this Mukhimantri Tirtha Yatra Yojana MP 2019, the state government sponsors pilgrimage to the people. According to the new Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Scheme, the government will provide visa-free access to Sikhs at Kartarpur Sahib, located on the India-Pakistan border. However, senior citizens above 60 years of age can apply for a pilgrimage online and can choose a pilgrimage to a religious place of their choice.

MP CM Tirtha Darshan Yojana Eligibility & Details
- Applicant must be resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- He must be a senior citizen above 60 years of age. However, there is a 2-year exemption for women, i.e. women above 58 years can also apply for the Chief Minister free pilgrimage scheme in MP.
- The applicant should not be an income tax payer.
- All persons with disabilities whose disability is more than 60% are eligible without any age limit
- If husband and wife want to do free pilgrimage together, one of them has to meet the eligibility criteria.
- Applicants should be physically and mentally healthy and should not suffer from infectious diseases like TB, heart, respiratory problems, coronary diseases, mental disabilities, infections and leprosy.
Features of Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana
- Free Darshan: – Under this scheme, all elderly travelers will be offered free pilgrimage. They will not have to spend any kind.
- Religious places: – Under this scheme, a provision has been made for pilgrims to visit religious places of all religions, respecting all religions. The responsibility of his pilgrimage has been entrusted to the Railways.
- Other facilities: – During this journey, arrangements for food, insurance, medical treatment and guides etc. will also be made for the elderly.
- First train: – The first train of this unique pilgrimage scheme of Madhya Pradesh started on 3 September 2012 from Bhopal’s Habibganj railway station, which left for Rameswaram.
- Total trains: – Under this scheme, about 100 trains have been run at various religious places for pilgrimage of senior citizens and this can double according to the popularity of the scheme. About 1000 passengers can travel in a train.
- For the purpose of making good and accessible arrangements for pilgrimage of beneficiaries, committees have been formed at the state and district levels so that people do not face any kind of problems.
- The State Level Management Committee is headed by the Minister of Religious Trusts and Endowment. Apart from these, many other ministers are also included in this committee.
- The chairman of the district level management committee is in charge of the district. Its secretary is the Collector, while the members of this committee include the Superintendent of Police, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, a Deputy Collector, the Chief Medical and Health Officer and the District Protocol Officer.
Apart from arranging pilgrimage of senior citizens, these committees also redress the problems of pilgrims during the journey.
People can also apply for the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Scheme in groups. For group registration, family / group heads may register single but the group size should not exceed 25 persons. People can apply for free pilgrimage once in their lifetime.
