The Minister of Health and Family Welfare has launched the Food Safety Mitra Scheme on 16 October 2019 on World Food Day. This government scheme has been launched under the “Eat Right India Movement” at a function in New Delhi. He told that the Food Safety Mitra Scheme 2024 will prove to be a successful step towards the correct policy and implementation of food chain. Dr. Harsh Vardhan also introduced the re-use and environment-friendly e-right-bag.
Dr. Krishnamurthy Subrahmanyam, Chief Economic Advisor, in the Food Safety Mitra Scheme 2024 of the Central Government, launched under the Eat Right India Movement & Fit India campaign, to destroy food from people Instead of feeding the poor and hungry people also appealed.
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has implemented this scheme (Central Govt. Food Mitra Scheme) to motivate people at the grassroots level.
Food Security Mitra Scheme 2024 objectives
- The objective of the scheme is to motivate food business operators – FBOs and facilitate them in the food business in every way and to maintain food hygiene.
- The Minister of Health and Family Welfare said that Food Safety Friends will be professionally trained persons certified by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India – FSSAI who are responsible for the standards of food safety and hygiene with people related to food safety. Will tell
- Food safety friends will be of three types – 1) Digital Mitra (2) Digital Mitra (Trainer Mitra) 3) Hygiene Mitra
- The government estimates that food security friends will be able to provide services such as licensing, registration, hygiene rating and training to more than 25 lakh FBOs.
- This scheme will increase employment generation and help in creating an ecosystem along with capacity building which will generate more jobs in food business in the future. About 50,000 entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the Food Security Mitra Yojana (Right Food Better Life Campaign).
Eat Right India and Fit India Movement
Eat Right India Movement & Fit India Initiative is a huge campaign launched by the government itself which will increase employment in the food industry as well as create awareness among people about food hygiene standards.
Eat Right Jacket was also launched today, which will be used by field staff working in various fields. It is a smart design jacket that can be fitted with many technical equipment such as tablets / smart phones, QR codes and RFID tags for identification and monitoring. This will ensure the safety of field staff working in different areas on the one hand, on the other hand it will ensure transparency, professionalism and transparency in the food security system, along with it will bring a sense of ownership and FSO to keep an eye on them. The ‘Eat Right Jhola’ is actually a cloth bag that can be reused, so it will easily replace plastic bags when shopping in retail grocery stores. Since bags are contaminated due to bacteria, microorganisms, etc. on frequent use, regular washing of cloth bags is necessary to ensure health safety and hygiene. These cloth bags are being provided on rent through a private clothing hire service company.
