The Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala has come up with another scheme to help physically challenged / differently abled students who are under 18 years of age. “Kerala Vidyajyoti Scheme 2020”. Kerala Vidyajyoti Scheme 2020

The Department of Social Justice conducted a state-wise survey for physically handicapped / differently abled people with the help of Kerala Social Security Mission. According to this survey there are 7,79,793 people, out of which 1,30,799 are under 18 years of age. For upliftment of education of physically handicapped / various handicapped students of the state, the department has started Vidyajyoti Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the scheme to purchase uniforms and study material.

Kerala Vidyajyoti Scheme 2020 Eligibility

  •     The candidate should be from the state of Kerala and should be studying in a government / aided institution.
  •     Applicant must be a physically challenged (PH) student with 40% or more disability
  •     BPL candidates will get preference under this scheme

Purpose of the plan

The main objective of the Department of Social Justice behind the introduction of this scheme is to promote and encourage education among physically challenged / differently abled persons.
