Jharkhand Birsa Harit Gram Yojana | Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana | Neelambar Pitambar Jal Samriddhi Yojana
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has launched 3 employment schemes for six lakh migrant laborers, who are returning to the state in a phased manner. The names of 3 schemes are Birsa Green Village Scheme, Poto Ho Sports Development Scheme and Nilambar Pitambar Jal Samridhi Yojana. The purpose of these schemes is to revive the rural economy which has been severely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.
3 The decision to introduce rural employment schemes comes three days after the migrants stranded in the state return. All 3 schemes will be run by the Department of Rural Development under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme.
Jharkhand Rural Employment Schemes for unemployed migrants
Apart from offering employment to the rural population, all these schemes are in keeping with the long term goals of sustainable development and are ready to create new wealth in the state. The government is committed to the welfare of its citizens, especially vulnerable ST / SC communities, women employees in rural areas and economically backward families. In this post, we will provide details of all these 3 schemes one by one.
Birsa Green Village Scheme
The objective of the Jharkhand Birsa Green Village Scheme is to use more than 2 lakh acres of unused government fallow land for afforestation. Nearly 100 fruit strips will be given to about 5 lakh families and initial plantation, maintenance, land work and afforestation works will be taken up through MNREGA. Over 5 crore fruit bearing plants are expected to be planted in the next few months.
The specialty of this scheme is that the person planting and caring for such trees will get the benefit of the produce. We will work to develop market linkages for them. Each family is estimated to receive an annual income of Rs. 50,000 every year. The land will however be owned by the government.
Poto Ho Game Development Plan
The Poto Ho Sports Development Scheme will link sports with rural employment schemes for the creation of wealth in rural areas to promote sports. It is being planned to set up 5,000 sports fields with one in each of 4,300 panchayats.
Nilambar Pitambar Jal Samridhi Yojana
The Jharkhand Nilambar Pitambar Jal Samridhi Yojana aims at water conservation, groundwater recharging, construction of agricultural water storage units for rainwater storage and running of ground water. All districts facing perennial water problems like Palamu will benefit the most.
All 3 rural employment schemes for unemployed migrants have been made using the resources of the state and integrate some central MNREGA schemes.
