How to become Navy Officer ?
Navy Officer Education Requirements/Qualification
- Candidate must have passed class 12th from a recognized institute.
- Candidate must have 60% marks.
- The applicant must have studied subjects like Physics and Mathematics in 12th.
Physical Requirements/Qualification to become Navy Officer
Navy officer is a post where physical fitness is very important. Therefore, along with the educational qualification, the qualification has also been kept for the physical fitness of the candidate, the information of which is as follows:
Age
Candidate age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.
Male Candidates
- Height – Candidate’s height should be 162.5 cms.
- The body weight of the candidate should be according to his height.
- Vision- Candidate should have 6/6 and 6/6 eye sight.
- Chest Measurement- The chest measurement of the candidate should be 80 cms without expansion and it is mandatory to have 85 cms when inflated.
- The candidate should be completely fit physically and mentally.
Women Candidates
- The minimum age of the candidate is mandatory to be 152 cms.
- The body weight of the candidate should be according to his height.
- Vision- Candidate should have 6/6 and 6/6 eye sight.
- Candidate must be completely physically and mentally fit.
Exams to become Navy Officer
If you want to become a Navy officer after class XII, then for this you have to clear the NDA (National Defense Academy-NDA) exam. This exam is conducted by the UPSC department. Also know that it is a very tough exam in which the candidate has to first pass the written test, then the physical test and medical test and finally the interview. NDA Exam
Under the NDA exam, the candidate has to appear in two papers out of which one paper is of general ability and the other of mathematics. Let us tell you here that under the examination of mathematics, the candidate has to solve the question paper of 200 marks. Also, let us tell you that in the paper to be taken under Mathematics, questions based on topics like Matrix, Dysmatrix, Trigonometry, Geography, Integration, Differential, Equation and Statics are asked from the candidate.
Similarly, the second paper of NDA exam is of general ability for which 600 marks have been kept. Let us tell you here that this entire paper is divided into two parts in which English is in the first part for which 200 marks have been kept. If the candidate has to pass in this part then his/her English should be very good for that.
Apart from this, the second part of this paper is of general knowledge, for which 400 marks have been kept, in which questions are asked from the candidate based on Indian History, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, General Knowledge etc. This exam is very tough in which a candidate has to put in a lot of hard work to be successful.
Physical test exam
Candidates passed in the written test are called for physical test. Let us inform you here that in this examination, running, sit-up, long jump etc. are done from the candidate. If the candidates are successful in this then they are again called for the medical test.
Medical Tests
Under the medical examination, the candidate has to get his body examined closely. This test is done by the doctors who find out whether the candidate has any type of physical disease or mental illness. If a candidate is disqualified during the body check then he/she cannot join the Navy. This medical test is also very mandatory and important for joining Navy in which the candidate must pass.
Interview
The candidates who clear the written exam of NDA and also pass in the physical test then they are again called for the interview. If the candidate answers all the questions asked in the interview, then he is selected for the Navy and sent on training.
