A patriot is one who loves his country and acts as a loyal citizen of his country. He is said to be a true patriot who loves his country and is willing to make sacrifices for all his causes, and works wholeheartedly for the welfare of his motherland.

The land on which one takes birth and brings and survives is naturally beloved than any other country. This love for his birthplace grows in patriotism. If his motherland is attacked by enemies, he does not hesitate to fight for the protection of the freedom of his native country. He can do anything to glorify his country. He feels proud of his country. This patriotic spirit can be seen in many great heroes of history.
