Kalpana Chawla was the second woman to travel the world and was the first Indian woman. He was born on 8 July 1961 in a middle class family in Karnal district of Haryana. His father’s name was Banarsi Lal Chawla and mother’s name was Sanjyoti. She was the youngest of her four siblings. He did his schooling from Tagore Kal Niketan School.
