It was the 30th of June. It was very hot. Village ponds and wells were dried up. The farmers were sad. For the full two months- may and June- of scorching heat, they had prayed for rain. At last, God granted their prayer.
Soon the sky was covered with dark clouds. It thundered and flashed as it rained heavily. Children ran out to bathe in the rain. The water began to run down the sloping streets. Elders also came out of their house to enjoy the rain.
It stopped raining after two hours. The weather became very pleasant. A rainbow appeared in the sky. People arranged tea parties with friends. Everything looked happy and relieved.
