The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has approved 3.31 lakh (3,31,075) more affordable houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Under the PMAY Urban Housing Scheme, the central government led by PM Narendra Modi aims to provide cheap homes in urban areas to poor people who do not have their own homes. In the CSMC 49th meeting held on 27 November 2019, the Central Clearance and Monitoring Committee has approved more houses under PMAYU.
At the CSMC 49th meeting, a total of 606 proposals in 6 states have been approved in the BLC / AHP vertical. The total project cost is Rs. 15,125 crore with central assistance of Rs. 5,092 crore Rs. It consists of 6 Light House Projects (LHP), with 6368 houses to be built in 6 states.
