Labor Department, Government of Punjab is inviting online application for Labor Card on pblabour.gov.in. People can now check the list of complete schemes run by the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board for laborers. If any construction worker wants to avail BOCW schemes, he can register with Punjab Labor Department. For this purpose, each person has to fill the Punjab Labor Card Apply Online Form 2020 on the official website.

The Punjab BOCW Board is running various schemes for laborers such as Wazifa Scheme, Shagun Scheme, LTC, Pre-Wide, General Surgery, Tool Kit Scheme, Maternity Benefit Scheme, Bali Scheme, etc. Any building worker, construction labor or any other person who is doing labor work in Punjab can now fill the scheme application form on the e-labor card portal.

Punjab Labor Card Online Registration / Application Form

Below is the complete procedure to apply online by filling Punjab Shram Card online registration / application form: –

  • First of all, visit the e-labor card website pblabour.gov.in
  • On the homepage, click on the “Create New User” tab on the right side of the page.
  • Later, Punjab Labor Card online registration form 2020 will appear
  • Applicants can then go to the link http://bocw.punjab.gov.in/ and click on the “Login” tab at the top.
  • Direct link to login
  • Here applicants can login using the username and password or mobile number and OTP to open the Punjab Labor Card online application form 2020. In this form, fill all the details and submit it to complete the Punjab Labor Card online process. Finally, applicants can also check their Punjab Labor Card status online on the official portal.

Shagun Scheme

An amount of Rs. 31,000 will be provided on marriage of 2 daughters of construction workers registered as Omen, 30.3.2015 as per new rates applicable. Important features of the Shagun Scheme for construction workers are: –

  • Shagun scheme will be applicable only once on the occasion of two daughters (till the marriage of two daughters) and will not be applicable in case of second marriage.
  • If the daughter herself is registered as a beneficiary with the board, she should also be entitled to the amount of the omen on the occasion of her marriage.
  • The registered laborer can submit the application within 3 months after the fixed date of marriage of the daughter. A certificate obtained from the Marriage Registration Authority is required to be attached to the application.
  • If the beneficiary has availed such benefit from any other department / institute of the Government of Punjab, he will also be entitled to benefit under this scheme.

Ex-gratia Scheme

LTC scheme

In this Leave Traveling Concession Scheme, each registered construction worker gets Rs. 2000 assistance for visit to religious / historical places in India or visit to home town. The beneficiary will be eligible for this benefit after every two years.

Occupational disease plan

It is a medical health scheme for registered construction workers and their families. In this scheme, the registered construction labor beneficiary can get health benefits of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh per year on a family floater basis. Occupational Disease Scheme is being launched with the help of Punjab Health System Corporation. The benefit under this scheme is not less than the RSBY scheme.

Funeral planning

In this scheme, BOCW will provide financial assistance for funeral and funeral expenses in the state of Punjab after the death of a registered construction worker or his family member. After the death of a registered construction worker or a member of his family, the board has paid Rs. An amount of 1,0000 / – is given.

Teeth, Eyeglasses and Hearing Aid Scheme

In this Teeth, Spectrum and Hearing Device Scheme, BOCW will provide financial assistance for spectrum, dentures and hearing aids for beneficiary construction workers and their family members. Financial assistance (subsidy) at the following rates is provided by the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to its registered beneficiary construction workers and their family workers in the state of Punjab for eyeglasses, datums and hearing aids: –

General surgery Aid scheme

Financial assistance scheme for “general surgery” of registered beneficiary construction workers and their family members. The board has approved financial benefits up to Rs. 50,000 or actual expenses (whichever is less) to the registered beneficiary and their family members for general benefits.

Maternity benefit scheme

The board also provides maternity benefit scheme for registered construction workers. Under the scheme, women construction workers for the birth of two children were given Rs. 21,000. Under this scheme, male construction workers were also born on the birth of their two children for Rs. Will be entitled to this financial benefit at the rate of Rs. 5,000.

Balri Tohfa Yojana (Birth Gift Scheme)

Financial assistance in the shape of FDR of Rs. 51,000 is given at the birth of a female child (maximum two girls), which can only be encoded at the time of the daughter’s marriage. Term deposits will be given priority first till the age of 18 and then till the marriage of the daughter.

Mentally Retarded Children Benefit Scheme

Financial assistance scheme for the care of mentally retarded children (son / daughter) of construction workers of 20,000 / – per year. The certificate of child being mentally handicapped or handicapped received from a senior medical officer of a government hospital or ESI hospital is to be uploaded on the board’s web portal.

Tool kit scheme

Financial assistance up to Rs. 5000 / – for purchasing equipment to registered construction workers who have received training under the skill up gradation or RPL scheme of the board. A construction worker can get the benefit of tool kit scheme after every three years.

Pension scheme

A registered construction worker after the age of 60 years and completion of 3 years of membership, is entitled to a pension of Rs. 2,000 per month. Family pension @ Rs. 1,000 / – per month is also provided by the Board. Membership certificate is issued immediately to the construction worker after registration with the board.

Bicycle Scheme for Children of Registered Construction Labourers

In this scheme, children of registered construction workers studying in class 9th to 12th in Punjab will get free bicycles from the BOCW Board.
