The Amma Vodi scheme in Andhra Pradesh has been proposed by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in his party manifesto. Now after winning the assembly elections, YS Reddy has given the go-ahead to the Amma Vodi scheme and has also approved the order to implement the scheme from 26 January 2020. Under YSR Amma Vodi, Rs 15,000 per year will be given to mothers who send their children to school.
AP Amma Vodi Scheme Details
Students who are studying in public and private schools can avail the AP Amma Vodi scheme. In the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister also announced that this financial amount of Rs 15000 will be given through check. This student welfare scheme will be implemented across the state and students of every caste and category will get the initiative of Amma Vodi scheme.

Objective YSR Amma Vodi Scheme
To encourage parents and parents that they send their children to school, the state government plans to launch the scheme from 26 January 2020 on Republic Day. This scheme will definitely improve the standard of education. This scheme will promote education among children and reduce the rate of students.

Eligibility criteria YSR Amma Vodi Scheme
- According to the rules, the mother or guardian should belong to the family which is below the poverty line.
- The family must be in possession of a white ration card. The family is defined as a father, mother and their dependent children.
- Beneficiary must have a valid Aadhaar card
- The beneficiary student should be studying in class I to XII in government / private aided / private aided schools / junior colleges recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- The mother / beneficiary shall ensure minimum 75% attendance of her child in the school.
- If the child stops studying in the middle of the academic year, they will not be eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
- State / Central Government and PSU employees, Government employees pensioners are not eligible to apply.
Benefit of YSR Amma Vodi Scheme
- The beneficiary will get Rs. 5000 / – per year as per the number of any child of the family studying from class I to XII.
- The amount will be deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries.

Based on the details of the applicant, the AP Amma Vodi scheme will be implemented. Also, the Amma Vodi Application Form should be filled by the parent or guardian by attaching the required documents.
