Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1896 in a village called Porbandar in Gujarat. His father was Karamchand Gandhi and mother Putlibai. After completing his primary and higher secondary education, he took an interest in becoming a barrister. Therefore, he was sent to England during 1888 to pursue higher education in law. After four years of hard struggle, he returned to India in 1891 after completing his law degree.
Soon after his return from England, he left for South Africa in search of work. In those days, there was a huge demand for Indian lawyers in South Africa. According to his wish, he got an opportunity to work there. He spent a lifetime of nearly 20 years in his lifetime. During these days, racism was prevalent in South Africa. He became a victim of this racism. He was ejected from the running train even after obtaining a valid ticket in the first class reservation.
