History ISL 2020-21
2014
The first finalists in the history of ISL were Kerala Blasters and Atlético de Kolkata (now known as ATK-Mohun Bagan), Mumbai’s D. why. Patil fought in the stadium.
Super-sub Mohammad Rafiq scored in stoppage time of the fifth minute to prevent the title for the Kolkata club.
Chennaiyin topped the league table.
2015
FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC went face to face in the 2015 finals at Fatorda Stadium in Goa. This was another season where the title was decided in the dying minutes of the game.
Thongkosim Haokip of Goa canceled the opener of Bruso Pellissery before Jafar Mateau put the Gaurs ahead in the 87th minute.
2016
The 2016 finals season was a rematch between a finalist, played at the Nehru Stadium in Kochi, and the result remained unchanged.
Mumbai City finished as table toppers that season.
2017/18
In their first ISL season, Bengaluru FC topped the table and qualified for their playoffs (against FC Pune City) for the final at their home ground – Sri Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
However, for the second consecutive season, the team playing in their home ground lost the title as Chennaiyin came from behind to win 3–2 and a record-equal second title.
2018/19
Inspired by their first season’s performance, Bengaluru came away this time securing their first league title. Playing against FC Goa at the Mumbai Football Arena, Rahul Bhake condemned the goals to a second ISL final defeat by scoring the only goal in the extra half game.
Bengaluru then topped the league stage.
2019/20
After a disappointing two seasons, ATK returned in style under the leadership of its former coach Antonio Habas and won their third title against Chennaiyin in a closed door at Goa. Javi Hernández’s double and an Edu Garcia strike won 3–1 on the night.
FC Goa finished as table toppers to win the ISL League winner’s shield.
