The Godhan Nyaya Yojana has been launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh on 20 July 2020 to promote animal husbandry and make it commercially profitable. Chhattisgarh Gaudhan Nyaya Yojana’s success so far
The success of this scheme is being discussed all over the country. 118611 quintal of manure has been produced from the dung obtained through Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyaya Yojana till 15 March 2021. Out of this, 83900 quintal manure has been sold so far. So far, about 162497 cattle herders have been benefited through this scheme. Of these 162497 cattle herders, 70299 were landless cattlemen. 44.55% of the total beneficiaries of this scheme are women. So far, 44 lakh quintals of cow dung have been purchased from cattle herders through this scheme. The dung purchase money is directly transferred by the government through direct benefit transfer to the livestock owners’ account. So far 16 installments have been disbursed by the government to the beneficiaries account.
15th and 16th installment of Chhattisgarh Gowdhan Nyay Yojana
Through this scheme, cow dung is procured by the government. This cow dung is made and sold in the market through Gauthan. The purchase price is paid by the government when the cow dung is sold to the farmers. This payment is made to the beneficiaries account. On March 21, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel ji has deposited the amount of the 15th and 16th installments in the farmers’ account. A total of 7 crore 75 lakh rupees have been transferred to the beneficiaries account through the 15th and 16th installments. The amount of 15th installment was Rs. 3 crore 75 lakh and the amount of 16th installment was Rs. 3 crore 80 lakh. So far, a total of 88 crore rupees have been collected in the account of livestock owners under this scheme. Through Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana, cattle rearers are becoming self-reliant and empowered. This scheme has also become a source of income for women.

On 20 March 2021, the Gowdhan Nyaya Yojana was awarded the Scotch Gold Award. This award has been given in view of the outstanding contribution of this scheme towards environmental protection. On this occasion, he transferred the amount of the 11th and 12th installments to the bank account of the beneficiaries. Between December 16 and December 31, the dung sellers purchased were paid 4.51 crore rupees for the 11th installment. Between January 1 and January 15, Rs 3.02 crore of the 12th amount of cow dung was transferred online to the beneficiaries account. So far, Rs 71 crore 72 lakh has been paid under the Chhattisgarh Gowdhan Nyay Yojana.
It was also informed by the Chief Minister that more than 57 thousand landless farmers are among the beneficiaries of this scheme. Selling dung has become a source of income for all these landless farmers. So that the government’s objective of increasing the income of farmers is also being achieved.
