The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a new scheme called Disabled Pension Scheme with an aim to make disabled people self-reliant. Under this scheme, the government will give lump sum amount to people with disabilities. The government will give this amount monthly. In this way, disabled citizens will be able to meet their daily expenses and they will not have to depend on anyone else. Under this scheme, the government will provide money at the rate of Rs 500 per month to people with disabilities. This scheme will benefit those people who are physically handicapped.
Under this scheme, a minimum of 40% or more disabled person and disabled person of 18 years of age or above, whose name is in the BPL list, can avail benefits. For this scheme, one can apply online by visiting the official website of Social Welfare Department. Only people who are not taking advantage of any other government scheme can take advantage of this scheme.
