The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to provide relief to the electricity consumers of the state in electricity bills in different ways due to Corona virus infection, which will directly benefit the electricity consumers. Due to this scheme, the electricity consumers of the state will be very beneficial in giving electricity bills. The lockdown was done by the Indian government because of a corona virus infection. Due to which all types of employment, services were banned by the central government. Due to which the daily wage laborers were affected the most. However, the government of the poor, farmers and elderly people by the Central and State Government, under their different schemes, worked to deliver their essential services to every poor and needy person of the society.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced to give relief in electricity bill. In which 1 lakh domestic electricity consumers of the state will get direct benefit of this scheme. With which people will now have to pay half the amount of electricity bill. Also, the industries will be given relief in fix charge in the electricity bill of the industry. In addition, incentives will also be given by the government to those who pay the bill on time.

MP Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme (Concessions to Domestic Consumers)

Inaugurating the scheme, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that 50% discount will be given to the power consumers of lockdown period and also the incentive amount will be given on the outstanding electricity bill. The maximum incentive amount for which domestic consumers will be given is 10 thousand rupees.

  • If the electricity bill of a household has come down to 100 rupees or less in April, but in the next three months (ie May, June, July), this bill is more than 100 but less than 400, then that consumer has to pay those three months (May, June). , July) electricity bill will have to be paid only 100 rupees. Apart from this, no additional fee will be charged.
  • 28 lakh people will get benefit of about 150 crores from this.
  • Such electricity consumers are covered under Sambal Yojana, who have Sambal card and other domestic consumers whose electricity bill came up to Rs 100 in April, but in the subsequent 3 months (May, June, July) from Rs 100 If less, the entire electricity bill will have to be replaced by just Rs 50 per month.
  • This will benefit 63 lakh people in the state, which will benefit up to 100 crores.
  • Household consumers who have more than 100 but less than 400 bills in April and then more than 400 electricity bills in the next three months will have to pay only 50% of the electricity bill.
  • Now through the mobile app, the consumer can send the readings of his home to the electricity department himself.
  • If someone pays his May and June electricity bill in due time, then he will get the benefit of 1% incentive. For the domestic consumer, it has been fixed at a maximum of 10 thousand, while for the large consumer this incentive amount is 1 lakh.

MP Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme (Concessions to Industry, Business Institutions)

The trade industry in the country has been completely closed for the last two and a half months. People’s source of income is closed, but expenses remain. In such a situation, industrialists and traders were worried about how to pay the fix electricity bill. In this context, the Shivraj government has made a big announcement after thinking: –

  • The government has said that all industries, hotels, restaurants, procession houses, shops, big showrooms, salons, parlors etc. will be postponed for fixing electricity bill charges from April to June.
  • The government has said that the public will be able to fill this amount in six installments from October 2020 to March 2021, on which no interest will be charged.
  • This scheme will benefit 12 lakh traders. The government will benefit 700 crores in the coming time.
