The Andhra Pradesh Rice Card has been developed by the authorities concerned to provide subsidized rice to all residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Through the implementation of the Rice Card, many citizens will be able to get the product at a discounted rate and at the same time they will be able to get daily food at a lower price than the normal price, so that they can carry their day-to-day life.
Rice card implementation
The beneficiaries of the rice card for the state of Andhra Pradesh were taken into account by following the YSR Navasakam scheme, which was launched a few days ago. Through the implementation of YSR Navasakam scheme, an eligibility list was prepared by the concerned authorities. Names of all those who were below the poverty line and below the poverty line. Names have been used as beneficiaries in the final list of rice card schemes. All of the selected names will be able to take advantage of the card.

AP Rice Card Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the rice card scheme, residents must follow the following eligibility criteria: –
- The annual family income of the applicant should be at least-
- Rupees. 10,000 / – per month in rural areas
- Rupees. 12,000 / – per month in urban areas
- The total land holdings of the family should be less than the holding-
- 3 acres of wetland or
- 10 acres of dry land or
- 10 acres of both wet and dry land simultaneously
- Less than 750 sqft is constructed in the urban area.
- The monthly electricity consumption of the applicant should be less than 300 units.
- No family member of the applicant should be a government employee or pensioner.
- The applicant’s family should not have 4 wheelers.
- No family member of the applicant will be paying income tax.
How to apply for AP rice card
As mentioned above, the application for the rice card scheme was made through the implementation of the YSR Navsankam scheme. The following steps have been taken for the YSR Navsankam scheme: –
- Previously, door-to-door verification was done for existing ration card holders.
- A 6-step social audit has been conducted to look into these factors-

How to file a grievance?
Ration card holders face various issues related to ration card, PDS etc. To solve grievances, Andhra Pradesh government has also given an option for grievance redressal through online portal.
- Visit the official portal first.
- On the homepage, click on “Apply for” menu given on the top.
- Select “Grievance” option.
- Grievance form page will appear.
- Enter the ration card no. or UID no. in the fields provided. Make sure the RC/UID numbers are correct.
- Click on submit.
- Follow the further procedure (if any).
- A grievance Id will be generated. Keep the ID safe until the issue is resolved.
How to check AP Ration Card Grievance Status?
Portal also provides an opportunity to citizens for tracking status of grievance Application. To track the grievance status, they have to visit the https://aepos.ap.gov.in/Grievance/grievance_status.jsp and have to enter the grievance ID. Whatever will be the status, it will appear on screen.
