Nirman Kusuma scheme 2019-20 launched by Odisha govt. for children of construction labourers to enable them to pursue technical education, construction workers children will get Rs. 23,600 to pursue ITIs education and Rs. 26,300 for diploma in state run technical institutions

CM Naveen Patnaik has launched Nirman Kusuma Yojana for the children of construction laborers in Odisha. Under this scheme, the state government. Will provide financial assistance to enable the child of the worker to be given technical education. As per the provision of the scheme, Govt. Has deposited a total amount of Rs. 1.09 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1878 beneficiaries for the 2019-20 academic session.

Children of construction workers will get financial assistance for education in government. Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Polytechnic and Diploma. CM has also announced a financial assistance of up to 20% for the education of girls at each stage.

Odisha Nirman Kusuma Scheme for Education in ITI and Diploma

Government of Odisha Nirman Kusuma Scheme has been launched for providing financial assistance for obtaining education in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and for diploma in State run technical institutes. Marking the official launch of the scheme, CM has extended financial assistance to more than 500 children of construction workers registered under the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

After the commencement of the new construction Kusuma scheme, children of construction workers who have followed their ITI education will now get Rs. 23,600. Children of construction laborers receiving diploma education in technical institutions of the state are now paid Rs. 26,300.

Key features of the scheme

  1. Educational development – The main aim of this scheme is to offer interested candidates with financial aid and encouragement. With this grant, the applicants will be able to pay the institute fee.
  2. Total financial assistance for applicants – All selected candidates who are pursuing diploma degree in any technical institute will receive Rs. 26,300. On the other hand, Rs. 23,600 will be deposited in the bank accounts of ITI candidates.
  3. Total number of beneficiaries – As of now, Odisha government has already made necessary financial depositions in the accounts of 1878 selected applicants.
  4. Increase in assistance for female wards – In case the registered labor has a girl child, she will attain 20% more financial aid, at all academic stages.

Eligibility and documents necessary for application

  1. Residents of the state – Legal residents of Odisha will be able to apply for this scheme. It is mandatory for applicants to submit their residential certificates.
  2. Occupational requirements – Only construction workers and labors will be able to apply for this scheme. Such workers will get aid to finance their children’s technical trainings.
  3. Registered workers only – It is mandatory for the parents of interested candidates to have legal registration from the Odisha Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. One must submit the photocopy of this certificate to support the claims.
  4. Technical trainees only – This scheme has been implemented for only those applicants who desire to attain technical training. Applicants, pursuing degree or diploma courses will be able to register.
  5. State institutes – Only those applicants will be able to receive financial assistance from the Odisha government who are pursuing their technical education from state-run institutes. Thus, applicants must submit admission papers, issued by the respective institute.
  6. Bank details – As all deposits will be made in the bank account of the applicants, he/she must offer account related details. Without this, the applicant will not be able to attain financial assistance.
