Prime Minister’s Employment Scheme (PMRY) 2020
Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana was developed by the concerned authorities in the year 1993 and through the implementation of this scheme the main objective was to provide employment throughout the country. Through the scheme, many incentives and many new jobs were distributed among the unemployed youth of our country so that they can earn their daily wages and live their lives happily. The scheme has worked wonders since its launch and now new implementations have been done under it.

Objectives Of The Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana 2020
The main objective of the PMRY scheme was to provide easy concessional financial assistance to educated unemployed youth to start their own enterprises in the following areas.
- Manufacturing
- Professional service
- business
Initially, the objective of the scheme was to provide self-employment to one million educated unemployed youth of the country by establishing 7 lakh micro enterprises over a period of 2 lakh years.
Features Of The Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana 2020
Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojana provides the following facilities to unemployed youth: –
- The scheme is sponsored by the Central Government of India.
- The Development Commissioner is the apex body for the scheme under the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Small Scale Industries, Rural and Agriculture, Government of India.
- The concerned commissioner / director implements this scheme at the state level.
- The four metros are monitored by the respective secretaries of industries.
- The grassroots implementing agencies are District Industries Centers (DICs)
Scheme Eligibility Criteria Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana 2020
The following eligibility criteria have been finalized for the application of the scheme: –
- Only educated unemployed youth between the ages of 18-40 apply.
- 10 years rebate
- SC / ST
- Ex-servicemen
- Physically challenged
- Women
- 10 years rebate
- Applicant must be at least 8th pass.
- Preference will be given to those who have been trained in any government recognized / approved institutes for a period of at least six months.
- Applicant’s household income is Rs. Must not exceed 4000000
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of the area for at least 3 years.
- The applicant should not be a defaulter for any nationalized bank / financial institution / cooperative bank.
- A person already assisted under other subsidy linked government schemes will not be eligible under this scheme.
- Priority should be given to weaker sections including women.
- Plan envisaged-
- 22.5% reservation for SC / ST
- 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
Required documents of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana 2020

- Driving license for identification.
- EDP training certificate
- Copy of proposed project profile
- Educational certificate
- Proof of date of birth such as 10th grade marksheet or birth certificate.
- Proof of residence for 3 years like ration card
- Income certificate issued by MRO (Divisional Revenue Officer)
- Caste certificate issued by MRO, if applicable
