The Government of Andhra Pradesh YSR Vidya Jyoti Yojana was announced with a view to make education cheaper for all students from class 5th to class 12th. The scholarship scheme goes to help the students by providing incentive amount up to Rs 2000. The scheme was announced by the Tribal Welfare Department. This scheme will be implemented mainly in rural areas. Various incentives are promised for AP YSR Vidya Jyoti Scholarship under different categories of students: –
- Class 5th to Students – Students studying in schools from 5th to 5th day will be encouraged in scholarly schools as follows –
- Girls – Rs 1500
- Boys – Rs1000
- From class 9th to 10th – Students studying in 9th and students living in 10 hostels will get Rs 4500 per year.
- Students studying in class 9th to 10th – 9th and students staying 10 days will be paid scholarship of Rs 2,250.
Scholarship eligibility
- Only applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Backward Castes and Other Backward Castes are eligible to apply for the scholarship scheme.
- The annual income of the household should not exceed Rs 2 lakh from all sources.
- Those who are particularly harassed are also allowed to participate in the scholarship.
