Speech on Generation Gap – 1
Dear Parents – Welcome to the Parents-Teachers Meeting! Hello everyone!
Being the principal of this school, I am responsible to these children and I am sincerely trying to give their future shape. Apart from their education, I want to ensure the development of their personality completely so that they can grow up as mature individuals who do not keep distance from them while retaining their moral values.
So this step i.e. conducting interactive sessions between parents and teachers is a step towards achieving this goal. No parent or teacher would want their children to disrespect or alienate them. However whether we believe or not, the generation gap is called a universal phenomenon and is seen in some way in almost every family across the world.
Regardless of the fact whether parents and children are living under one roof – they do not share a good interactive level or have little interaction. Children, their parents or the elderly have different ways of living. Children see their parents as strict, intimidating, and disciplinary, while parents see their children as very loose, insolent and violent. How can a relationship be good in such a situation? Or on what basis families can be formed. How can it become stronger when the widest generation gap / generation gap continues to widen.
I hear many such news everyday where various incidents of child abuse or children do not hesitate to take violent measures against their elders. So many news stories are read where a son kills his father for property or daughter commits suicide. These frightening news actually gives a reflection of our society and gives a strong indication of where our society or the coming generation is moving. As a mature and experienced person, we should try to bring change in our society and this change can only be brought on a large scale only when we start changing our family then the mindset of the youth living in our environment changes. .
As elders, we should not always be rude towards our children and also try to understand their attitude. Their thinking may be different from us but not wrong all the time. We should act as their friend, guide and mentor instead of dealing harshly with them as their parents. We should try to be a part of their small world which they create for themselves and try to know about their wishes and desires. If we take steps towards understanding them, I am sure they will take a step to fill this gap. In this way we can bring positive changes in our society and can effectively shift our energy in the right direction. The real meaning of the generation gap is a high degree of disagreement between the new and the old generation. It is the responsibility of both generations to respect and understand each other’s opinion. Only then can this gap be reduced and peace and harmony can be brought back.
Thank you
Speech on Generation Gap – 2
Dear Society Members – As Secretary of our ABC Society, I welcome all of you to our Society Club House meeting!
First of all hello to all of you! Today apart from discussing our day to day issues, I have prepared a speech on the generation gap which I am going to address now. In the recent news that everyone knows, which went viral, it was said that a young boy in despair hit his father so hard that he had to be hospitalized. I felt so strange to hear this news that what is happening with the younger generation today. Is it entirely their fault or is it also the fault of their parents that they failed to raise their children well and could not understand their thinking process?
Let us ask ourselves these appropriate questions from the perspective of being a parent and try to bring positive change in our society and mix our thinking with the thinking of our children. But at the same time it is very important to sow the seeds of moral values and good moral practices in our children. They should be taught from childhood that they should respect their elders and love their little ones. If we start to keep a distance from our children physically and emotionally, then their lives will suffer a lot of emotional pain and they will become insensitive towards everyone, especially towards older people.
We should try to narrow this gap instead of widening and widening it because it is already very wide where young and old people are already living in two different worlds without disturbing each other much. If you want to end this generation gap then as elders we have to resort to a sympathetic attitude towards our youth and children and try to understand what they like or dislike as well as their wishes. And aspirations also have to be known. Youngsters should also feel that they have no experience in life, so it is even more important to obey the words of our elders. They have a wealth of experiences that you can take advantage of and make your life better and valuable. The youth should listen to their elders and seek their advice on every important decision in their life. If the youth disagrees on any point, they can express their opinion calmly and with respect.
In foreign countries like America and Europe, the generation gap is so big that young and old people do not even like to live under one roof. When youth start earning money they want to start their life independently. Similarly, elderly people also live separately from youth in their old homes or pensioned homes. Hence this generation gap leads to the breakdown of joint families and homes.
We should try not to reach the point where Indian families start living separately under one roof. Let us provide good education to our younger generation so that they do not go away from their loved ones and stay connected with them. That’s all I wanted to say!
Thank you all for patiently listening to me!
Speech on Generation Gap – 3
Dear friends – I heartily welcome you all to this special ceremony where people of all age groups can freely share their life experiences with each other.
However before we start our sesh give me a chance to welcome our special guest tonight named Mrs. Revti Devi who is a social worker and chairperson of an NGO. The widening gap between young and old, children and adults is affecting family and relationships in various institutions. This difference can also occur in the context of the process of thinking by which things are seen by different individuals. So we are here to overcome the generation gap by reducing this gap through dialogue and discussions.
Apart from this, I would also like to give a speech on this subject to help people become aware of sensitivity on this subject. The difference between today’s youth and the elderly is seen as the generation gap. While youth are inexperienced, aggressive and aggressive on the one hand, on the other hand, the elderly are patient, prudent and knowledgeable. They are relatively quiet and work with caution. This fact of generation gap / generation gap is not new as it has been going on for many years.
Those who belong to the older generation always look at the younger generation with suspicion. They are unable to reconcile with the younger generation. He feels that his passing time was the best time because at that time he was young and respected his elders and was more obedient to them. They believed that insulting their elders could cause irreparable damage to the family. On the contrary, in today’s time, the youth believe that they should not be overly dependent on the old and they should be self-sufficient to do everything themselves. The youth dislike following the advice given by their elders in the family.
This difference between new and old generation is increasing day by day due to many reasons. Mainly today’s youth believe that the current education system has little relevance in the real clear world. It is not aimed towards getting a job. The result is that after the completion of schooling, they know that they are not fit for any job. They get very frustrated.
Second, the pace of life has become so fast that parents are able to spare a little time for their children. Efforts are being made to develop understanding and intimacy between the younger and older generations.
Thirdly, the youth know what the situation of our country really is. Discussions on dedication, duty, morality etc. have put the youth in a big dilemma. They are not ready to blindly accept whatever their elders will teach them today. When the youth learns that corruption and politics have entered every field. Because of which they are always ready to fight the fight against social and economic discrimination. So they seriously want to see a change in society.
And I hope that the change brought about by our younger generation will only be for the good and perhaps try to remove corruption in every field.
Thanks!
Speech on Generation Gap – 4
Dear students – Hope you have enjoyed your summer camp. I am very happy to hear from the students that the summer camp organized by us has thrilled them and they all got a chance to learn a lot from it. Now welcome back to your class and studies!
If I get a chance to share my experience with you as your class teacher, I would like to say that it was a mixed experience for me. New places, new activities, new zeal to assimilate which made me feel rich. However, there were some differences between teachers and students. Although you all study in higher secondary classes and we teachers share a good level of understanding with you.
So today before I start your regular course I want to give a brief speech on the generation gap / generation gap. This is a very important issue because I think many students are facing this difference in relation to their teachers. Students, I tell you that we teachers understand this from your age and what you like and dislike, but do you try to mold yourself according to the people around you, who are older than you? Probably not! It is necessary to respect this age difference and eventually that generational difference that comes naturally when people of different ages get together. It is not necessary for two people to have differences with each other all the time because they can try to understand each other’s thinking process and try to see things and learn something from each other in the end.
Everything related to old or old times is not bad and whatever is new or new time is not good. Any common man should try to understand what is right and what is wrong.
The generation gap / generation gap is something that you can never leave anywhere. You will find people of different ages and views everywhere. This difference is simply a conflict of ideas between people who belong to two different generations. In many cases the conflict of ideas is between both new and old thinking. Experienced or what you call old age by age, young people of today’s generation consider them as old-fashioned people.
In contrast, today’s generation has no life experience that makes them inherently impulsive, rather than judgments or consciences that follow their instincts. Let me give you an example. If a family is traveling by car, the son, who is young, will drive fast because he is excited by it. On the other hand the father or grandfather will drive slower and precautionally as they will be more concerned about the accidents on the road than the son.
So this kind of difference in thinking will always exist between people of two different generations. This difference is seen in the family and in institutions where young and old people live and work together. The best way to handle such a situation is to be friendly and patient with people, respecting the age difference. The old are mature and can accommodate themselves according to the younger generation everywhere. When you become an adult I am sure that you too will experience a change in your attitude and start seeing things from your elders’ thinking or their perspective.
So take the situation in a slightly comfortable way and try to adjust yourself in every situation – it is a quality of every great personality.
Thanks!
